Solovair is Docs without the meme part, learn to google.

Solovairs

There are loads of them. Basically all English shoe brands and most fashion brands make chunky derbies.

red wing, they last forever

Slightly off topic, but why do boots like these have horizontal "lines" on the soles?

The soles are stitched on

>I like the silhouette but docs are a meme
You sound like a faggot

>wedge sole

On the sole itself I mean

If you like the silhouette then what's the problem? The name recognition? Neck yourself.

>willfully dressing like tumblrinae

Its just a stylistic choice. Also a signature look for Docs.

But you like the silhouette, so it's not that you mind the look of it, you mind the name recognition.

yeah, so?

honestly those doc are really good looking.
Also they are not a meme, i don't see that kind of mono doc everywhere and everyday.
i only saw a lot when i was in london.

are you really letting little girls on tumblr decide what you can and can't wear, fag? wear what you want and try not to be such a pansy next time

So if you like the shoe, get the shoe.

Nobody is going to call you out for wearing mono docs you idiot

ofc your flyover village doesn't keep up with trends. wait a year.

Can anyone recommend a good derby with a lug sole? Something similar to the 1461 but not as chunky?

these have been worn by SO many different subcultures

also btw tumblrinas tend to wear 1460s
and not the mono editions

obviously you can go designer like said. but if you don't have 1k to spend on shoes

vintage and thrift stores have lots of shoes in this style
or buy bates or something

Personally I still like docs but there are lots of options

How do 1461s size? If I am size 11.5 what should I get?

11 but im not sure

i'm a size 10.5 and i got UK 9/US 10 and they fit right so go 11

/thread

I'm 11.5 too, got them in 11 still fit kind of big

They're not very chunky but theyre fucking dope

wait a year for what ?

size down

Is the Made in England worth the price bump?

bump

Doc are fine

...

...

Seconded

Probably not. The regular mono blacks are fine, imo.

I have bought 2 dm made in england & solovair derby shoes made in England off eBay for £190 total. From vintage shop sellers. They were pre vintage line dms too.All were brand new dead stock.its worth looking on eBay for new

The sole is in two parts. Its a welted sole

these are pure sex

>wedge sole

the sole looks like you could ice skate on them as well

Those are nice but I ended up selling my pair. Leather is garbage and not normal Redwing quality.

1461 mono black is literally the perfect chunky derby, and so many designers use them for their shows. Just get them.

Guy needs to do some squat and buy wider pants. Legs look pretty weird in these pics.

This. I got MiE 1461 for under $40 shipped on eBay. Just be patient and don't bite at the first sub $100 offer

memes are in the eyes of the beholder.

Also, any derbie inspiration for spring/summer, mainly tops and outwear?
I'm thinking of buying some dressier pants to wear with a white shirt for more cozy/formal occasions and for everyday something in the vain of pic related (not super skinny, tempered black jeans)

any ideas?

thanks for the name drops, browsing catalogues is nice.

those are really out there!

I don't really like those. The first two seem without direction, only hinting at some of the basic position of what's hot shit this days. The last one and the second one are more pleasant to the eye thanks to the without of ornaments. still, nice work.

I like mine but I have vintage original production run ones from the 1970s. The leather may be different but it is corrected on mine.

only pic I can offer. After looking through my inspo folder, maybe derbies for more laidback formal outfits aren't the best choice. Originally a countryside shoe, a rugged, bolder approach could be better. Most formal outfits I have use either Chelsea shoes or more open one like martens Edison/Penton

cool top, wherd ya get it

ID? Reverse image search turns up with nothing.

try church's

lol your silhouette is fucked

huge boxy torso, short stick legs and clown shoes

He doesn't have short legs tho.
