>there are people on this planet that think Richard Prince is fa art
kek

This looks terrible. Get some taste.

wanna know the best part?
its most likely a book cover he printed and painted over
thats why the face and hand looks decent and the rest is shitty art 101 tier

I don't care, it's still terribly ugly.

Richard Prince is the meme of the art world

And you give him attention.

>on a cantonese videogame forum

>where you could share artists that actually have or had talent

who are some effay artists then?

What do you want? Painters, photographers..?

anything

Define what you consider being an effay artist and I'll respond.

your turn

So edgy it hurts. You fell for the biggest memes of contemporary art. You don't seem to have a classical culture and this explains that.

let me guess, your favorite works of art are 'Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog' and 'Oath of the Horatii' and you couldn't name any Renaissance artists who don't share the names of ninja turtles

Nope. Try harder.

still waiting on your enlightened list

none of these are popular or Veeky Forums

Ill share my favorites from the movements and eras that I like the most.

My list of favorite photographers is coming next.

how can you call my list edgy when your selection of post-war artists isn't dissimilar at all

Blown the FUCK out

What has happened to this thread? I thought it was going to be an image dump.

>dissimilar
We only have Kounnelis in common though.

It's bedtime for Burgers and Yuropes

expanding on this post since i wasn't entirely clear: there's no way you can regard someone like Fontana (easily one of the most important post-war artists in general) as 'edgy' while namedropping Gutai, many artists of whom (Shimamoto in particular) he shared a similar aesthetic to. or for that matter including Viennese Actionism, a markedly transgressive and "edgy" movement. who exactly do you consider "the biggest memes of contemporary art"?

Fontana only put knives in some canvas.

I consider Vienna Actionnism like an edgy movement but it's still aesthetic values, when artists like Soulages or Twombly don't.

Also, I only named Shiraga in my Gutai selection, because his paintings remain beautiful and aren't a bunch of torn paper.

but it still has*

>Fontana only put knives in some canvas.
you're clearly ignorant of his body of work, and that's the kind of reductionist thinking that those without a grasp of non-objective art like to make

define "aesthetic values" and how those particular artists possess none

What? You want to make me admit that putting nails in canvas was also interesting?

that you say such things while also including artists like LeWitt or Serra, to whom even more reductionist statements could be applied, suggests to me (as does your empty recourse to so-called "aesthetic values") that your list is just hollow namedropping

I like architecture and consider Serra like an architect (considering the size of his sculptures). LeWitt has a technique and the same argument goes for him : the size of his works, along with his technique, makes his works more interesting to me than the total absence of technique that can be seen in Fontana's works whose message is blank and negative, as if art history was over.

The discussion stops here. I don't think I should spend more time discussing art with someone who calls "tasteless retard" someone that doesn't enjoy his shitty tofu blocks still life.

Post that list of photographers mang

I come to these threads for names mostly, since I'm only just getting into visual arts.

Would be much appreciated

Im a bit lazy to name drop so Ill take pictures of my folders, starting here by ancient photography.

Photo-reporters and humanist photography

Japanese photography

Fashion photography, a smaller folder since I have another one dedicated to fashion and I don't really know where to classify what sometimes.

Thanks man

Like I say, much appreciated

Chinese photography

German photography

Some photographs that only shoot bodies

And the unclassified folders.

Cheers user. Saved all of these

Hope you'll like these artists.

>Daikichi Amano
Lel, isn't it the guy who does eel and worm porn?

>tfw you fapped to this

Yes, he's totally degenerate. Thank you for reminding me to delete this.

Lucian Stanculescu. Love this guy.

These are nice.

Why does he have one and a half leg?

Balance and composition? Or something symbolic to do with Icarus, I have no idea. :(

I went to the museum recently and a tiny piece of cloth from a sculpture was lying on the floor. Is it immoral that I took it with me? I bought a little box to preserve it and everything.

Carnovsky is very effay

>Why does he have one and a half leg?
probably symbolism
icarus gets 2 new 'limbs' with the wings and conquers air, unfamiliar element to humans, but at the same time can't actually perform that well in ground anymore without limbs
like how lot of birds seem very elegant and beautiful when flying but are clumsy silly fucks when on ground
that's my initial thoughts at least

i have doing a musical project now
pls help me Veeky Forums

>link deep /creepy /old /aggressive videos like this

would you be willing to upload these to Mega in a .zip? I would love to see all of these.

seconding this. you have a nice collection.

Im sorry, but it represents several years of work and research. I recommend you to look for these artists on tumblr and google and I can name my favorite photographers for each category or the best to start with, but I don't want to share it. I hope you will understand that it is not egoism or arrogance. I don't think that downloading 10 thousands photographs in one shot would be the best way to discover these artists.

If interested, I have a fb page where I share most of the gems I find on the internet.

/poiesiseioq

its okay. I understand. I think art is pretty personal so I get not wanting to share.

I appreciate your response. For contemporary photography, the best I can recommend you is the website of Petros Koublis.

thanks I'll check it out.

Can someone share their art / photography folders on mega please?
Also, anyone know of some good sites to find nice art and maybe learn briefly about art history?

Ill start to make short videos about it soon. But the best way to learn art history is to open books.

You better go to musea, read magazines etc. You have to undertake the journey. That's better than getting it presented at your screen.

Magazines are bad.
So are museums.

Start by reading the Gombrich, then Nietzsche's theory of aesthetic, then Mircea Eliade, Erwin Panofsky and Walter Benjamin.

lold at you recommending theshitlist btw

>I don't think that downloading 10 thousands photographs in one shot would be the best way to discover these artists.

you don't want to share because it represent hours of lurking and dl over the years so you prefer to keep to yourself. It's selfish and childish.

Are you stupid?

Musea are bad? How so? You have to see the work with your own eyes. Do you have a better archival website?

Big faggot right here
