[eBay General Thread] - /egt/

I'll start us off with a question:

When you're selling something small enough to fit into a regular envelope, like a coin, how do you ship it?

USPS First Class in a small bubble mailer.

Is that really it? Thats still like 3 fucking dollars

Well you can ship it via regular first class, but it will get you bad ratings and your customers will say they didn't get it.

$2.45 it is if you don't want to get fucked.

Where's the bro who sells memes and meme accessories.. I'm interested to hear some updates. How's this year looking for $$$?

99,9%
#1 nigeriamerican wanted
how are the mousepads / lighters / rsims going?

lost my top rated because of shipping time, USPS can't handle...

Buy falcon for $900 -> Train to deliver mail -> mount Go-Pro (for receipts, so you won't get scammed) -> profit?

The buyers would need some kind of beacon that the falcon is trained to deliver to. I don't think falcons can read addresses. Setting up the falcon infrastructure would probably be pretty expensive.

whats is the average ROI you guys make?

I have been doing a LOT of numbers I cant do more than 10-15% for importing goods from china, even in retail or online arbitrage. for an item of 20 bucks I ended with 2 or 3 in profit.

Is that common? every time I go to the facebook groups there are these guys showing their gross sales EVERY FUCKING TIME. no one post ROI or any profit, yeah they sold 10000 dollars in one day but they invested 9999.

some numbers:
profit margin from a product in alibaba 65%
shipping air with custom broker, etc 20-30%
ebay and paypal fees 19%
shipping supplies, domestic shipping 5%, if you offer free shipping make that like 25% over 16oz.

30+19+25=74% worst case scenario.

I know there are people making money in this I just cant find how. I am thinking to change to local suppliers would save me money in shipping.

>Setup HoboDelivery™
>Have homeless people pass your item to each other while they walk around the city picking up bottles
>Package arrives at destination a little smelly, but on time.

Now you're thinking, what if they steal the package & sell it for dope?

That's why you

>Charge buyers $1 to ship
>Use said $1 to buy a box of animal crackers from the dollar store (they don't charge tax)
>Tape animal crackers to package
>Write note saying homeless can take some if they pass it along
>Homeless get fed, you get package delivered

Profit?

Similar situation. Considering starting a small company to make somse side cash but not sure who to use for shipping or what type of envelope. I've used USPS for years but was curious how much its be compared to other companies to ship small items about coin size? Anywhere for under $3 w tracking?

...

Use 8.5x11 bubble mailer envelopes for most items. Coin size items can be shipped in smaller mailers, but affixing the shipping label may prove difficult.

Through eBay, shipping for items via USPS First Class (limit of 13oz) is 2.45 for up to 3oz and 2.60 for up to 8oz.

I use Priority Mail for almost all items heavier than 13oz.

You gotta use the bubble mailer, if you use a regular envelope the rollers witll "squish the coin out."

sup kikes
anyone here doing stealth with separate ebay account/paypal/address/phone number / bank account to run multiple ebay shops? I'm talking "legit" as in a real paypal you have full access to; nothing stolen or blatantly illegal like buying stolen accounts.

I sell software and I want to make multiple accounts at some point. I'm specifically curious about what is cheapest way to get a separate paypal, physical address, and external IP.

>I'm specifically curious about what is cheapest way to get a separate paypal, physical address, and external IP.
Make a friend

Probably going to be shipping things about coin size and probably not through eBay. Any other tips?

Lol you litterally just find ips to use, look at adresses in the general area related to the ip, make accounts. Do it all the time.

are there any hobos that travel to china? This is important

USPS First Class is still the best option for any package under 13 oz

cheapest, but not safest.

what are you listing that you have 10k of? jeeez

ebay allows up to 8 accounts per person. they actually encourage it.

my competition has the same shit listed a couple times on 8 names. drives me fucking nuts.

10k is the total items you have for sale. You can have 1k different products with 10 each one.

Ho that explains why every fucker in the front page has the same photos.

I dont remember if I asked, but what are your typical margins?

You need to get better deals on your products. Start small, get small quantities that may make just a little money or break even. Most of the time you can get free samples to start as well. Then start ordering larger quantities. The chinks will work with you if they think you're serious.

are you me 6 months ago?
your "budget option" (not recommended) is to buy a vpn and socks, run the process through a vm (please don't use windows as the vm os) and just go from there..
If I were you I'd just buy a 3g / 4g dongle / user sim, optional proxy at the end if you want static ip for paypal. always run with vm (little on the pricy side, and you have to change both the sim and the dongle every acc)

I've never had a problem with USPS First Class in 100+ transactions.

Something around 60%, have no idea really.

One guy keeps buying a ton of my shit at once every week, things are looking up. I mean you already know I get the pads in the thousands, so it's under $5 for each.

Looks like eBay is forcing everyone into the new dashboard

nigeria have you had any experience with

Don't really know much about ghost eBay accounts. All I know is you can buy good standing accounts off of AskPin.

Pretty much all you have to do is put an address close to the new IP address you're masking. Or you can just call your ISP and tell them someone is using your IP fraudulent to get a new one.

Make one mistake logging in with your old IP and eBay will know.

But if you're doing good on your new account, they might leave you alone. Heck I still have my very first account banned. But it was only banned because I was returning too many things (only guy with debit card in high school, everyone wanted those crappy photo-shopped $60 7" tablets), so they don't really care about my selling seeing how much it's improved.

What items are you selling?

lol what is with you people

What? I was just curious, jeez.

always good to tick the donations tab

can't wait for breast awareness month, gonna make a killing ( - Y - )

Is it better to have use multiple ebay accounts for specific categories of things I want to sell or should I just put it all on one?

do you ebay brahs also sell on amazon?

wew lad someone must really need some memes

70%

as long as you're not selling Obama toilet paper with anti confederate memorabilia, you should be okay selling on one account. More feedbacks the better

seems like solid advice, thanks

So I got the following message from an ebay buyer I sold to -- "It was accidentally shipped to my old address because I forgot to update with eBay. Not your fault. Hopefully the new residents forward it."

I'm absolved of any responsibility, right?

Sounds like it to me.

>USPS First Class
fuck that shit i hate sellers that use it.
costs an arm and a leg to my country if they even ship.

Fuck your country

Yes. Tracking is the best thing us sellers have as it's the only thing keeping buyers/scammers from saying they didn't get the item. If a buyer claims they didn't get the item, as long as tracking shows delivered, you're in the clear.

If you're not in the U.S. then shipping is always going to be higher. First Class is the best for anyone selling smaller items. Sucks the price has almost doubled since I started selling.

It's the cheapest option that includes tracking aka scammer deterrent. Before you even buy an item you have to factor in how much it will cost you to ship.

Been selling some video games on eBay but today I got a bit disappointed. Sold one, right? Had it shipped out on Sunday and got it back in today when the buyer was supposed to be getting it. Insufficient postage on my part even though it was weighed and everything. The next time I can get to the post office is Saturday. Send the buyer a message on eBay apologizing for the delay and explaining what was going on.

Is this going to look bad on me?

Probably affect your shipping rating in your seller dashboard even if it's not technically your fault.

eBay will or will not remove the defect but it shouldn't matter since it's just one

also there's the possibility the buyer might be a douche and leave you a bad feedback.

Sup niggers. I've been on and off with the eBay game for a few years now.

Have seen most of my success (if you want to call it that) with picking up wholesale from China and flipping it on eBay. Never tried drop shipping even though that seems like the best way to go since you don't spend a dime until you make a sale.

Any of you have a good niche for picking up wholesale from China? Not asking for exact items, but niche would be a good start.

Do you buy the games from a local store and flip on eBay? Basically, all I want to know is how do you source your games?

Do they still do that hold you funds for 30 days crap? Sold a few board games a bit back and got slammed with that.

Glad to see you're doing well. You are actually the one that got meme'd me into eBay. I'm currently doing about $2000 a month in revenue. Profits are around 50% but I'm pushing to do better.

I generally just always go after things I find interesting. I know that's a generic answer, but I figure if I'm a kike about my money and will pay for it..then so will others.

I sold games like this before. Jew down little kids on craigslist and go to pawn shops or salvage stores. I hit up a Goodwill that was selling games for about $2 a pop.. bought a basket load that I flipped and made about $600.

It's actually 90 days if I remember,

They only want to make sure you're not trying to cheat them out of their fees.

aylmao so we're technically on the same boat now
though I'm slowly backing away from eCommerce until I find out what I really want to-do.
lol so if you're in the market for approx 1300 mouse pads ($20k+ net), feel free to hmu :^)

Much to my surprise, he told me thanks for letting him know and everything was fine. Very happy about that.

Well, I'm just selling off some stuff that I have. Probably going to put some more stuff up. I did go game hunting one day and got something for $5 that goes for $15 or so at a now-out-of-business store so that's out, and I hate going to yard sales.

Ohshit.jpg

You going to start SaaS...building your own products? What is Pajeet building for you?

Well first off we're 107days into the original 40.

Thought he would do a shitty job since he's doing it by himself while I make logos/design, but it's actually turned out well.

Just a simple app that may or may not get me where I need to be.

First I was going to just re-create Mercari
but after dealing with eBay...

Which reminds me, Mercari has become very popular. Been hearing other people talk about it like they would eBay/Amazon.

Pretty cool what offshore companies can do

Still don't know how they make money when they don't charge fees...

Oh wait, I do...

What the fuck happened? You sold something, someone filed a dispute and they cucked you?

Happened months ago in 15

>Sold iCloud locked iPhone I bought off CL by mistake
>Buyer didn't read description/comments
>Opens claim after receiving + releasing $$$ (if you know how Mercari works)
>Mercari auto sides with her and goes against it's own "no refunds after releasing money" policy claiming no one is allowed to sell iCloud locked phones, even for parts.

...

Craziest part is that she sold the same phone to someone else

the same day

while the case was going on

tells you the type of idiots that run that app lol

Why didn't you buy it back?

...

...

i bought an expired cashout voucher (ticket from slot machines) from a historic vegas casino from a yard sale a while ago, trying to figure out how to value it. cant really find anything like it, the voucher had a value of over $5k before it expired years ago.

the casino is gone now, plenty of other memorabilia from it is on ebay, but not many ticket vouchers, especially one as high value as mine. how the fuck do you value collectibles?

It's just a ticket senpai, start the bid at $0.99 and see where it goes

If you don't plan on setting up your own international shipping option, is there any reason why you shouldn't click this?

Any anons buy and sell sneakers on Ebay?

Nope, as long as it reaches their shipping facility in the U.S. you're safe (package gets lost/ buyer refuses to pay import taxes/etc).

Unless of course the buyer wants to return something, then you're fucked.

If you don't plan on selling Sketches or STARTERS, you might as well burn the shoes.

Its a bad idea user..

Same guy selling video games from earlier, but has anyone tried selling some rarer books on eBay? Is there a better place to sell them? I like Forgotten Weapons and whilst it won't be as interesting, I was thinking I could do something like that for rarer (or lesser known) books, and potentially sell them as I'm not really a collector.

Just wondering since it'd be something I'd enjoy.

Abebooks is the place for rare and out of print books.

What are you going to focus on? Buying from estate sales?

Besides the risk of occasionally getting scammed what are some other downsides?

Don't know yet, honestly. Trying to look into some options and doing this more for the enjoyment of books than the oodles of money I most likely will not be making.

One of the reasons I even want to do this is because I think I have a pretty old and rare Winnie the Pooh book that my mom used to read to me that I think I may sell. Honestly don't know yet since even though I am not a very materialistic person, I don't know if I want to give up something from my mother even though I see her every day, you know?

>risk of occasionally getting scammed
That should pretty much be the only reason not to go near it

But if you need more

X. Reasons for apparel returns

1.
> Bought the wrong size
Oh but we don't offer returns if it's your fault
> Oh wait, YOU washed it and now it's smaller! >:D
> eBay sides with Nike buyer and charges your acc return fee

2.
>I don't need it anymore
Oh okay please return it to blah blah blah
>Okay
>3 days later
Why are the shoes the wrong size?
>What do you mean?
>eBay sides with Jordan buyer

3.
>The shoes are not as described
Uh, okay please return it
>Thanks! :^)
>3 days later
Hey these are worn out!
>Oh I used them for a basket ball game the other day, WE WON! YAY ME RIGHT? :D
The list goes on, but hey go ahead. Anything is possible-

The big thing is researching the value of what you have. There are a lot of books out there that aren't even worth what it cost to ship them, but honestly I just went to a garage sale this weekend and picked up some $0.25 books I knew I could sell for a few dollars profit. If you actually enjoy reading buying and selling used books can be fun and make money rather than cost it, but there's not really enough money in it to try to make a job out of it.

If you already have books it probably wouldn't hurt to look up the prices of them and see if you want to sell them.

To add what the other user mentioned. Shipping costs are higher, probably will need to insure most of them as well.

Counterfeits. Buying counterfeit, not knowing they're counterfeit and getting Cease and Desists from Nike. Buyers claiming counterfeit even if they're not.

The general market you'll cater to will be um, not exactly the ones that I'd want to sell to. I.e high chance of being scammed.

I've used eBay for a few years mainly sniping a deal once in a blue moon or just trading cheap electronics. I want to actually make money off it, where do I start? I don't know where I'd get a good source and I'm a poorfag

any thoughts on flipping alibaba shit on ebay?

I've used eBay for selling out of print manga or multi-volume lots. I usually buy them at a used book store for $1 and resell them online. If it's OOP I'll check the prices on Abe/Amazon or start the auction at the original price if it's not worth that much.
I also work at an auction where we sell off estate items and I occasionally grab anything decent I can get there to resell. It's kind of hard sometimes because the people who go to these actually know their stuff about most of the items, but usually I can get manga and videogames/consoles without any issues.

I don't think it's worth it. I've sold some old shoes on there but it usually costs around $10 just for shipping. As for buying it is easy to get some good stuff for under $50 but it's safest to buy from the official store accounts.

>ebay general
>implying anyone will actually give any useful advice to competition

>found my niche
>not telling anyone about it
>coworkers are impressed by how much I make selling stuff online

right?

Once i found mine i decided i made as much or more as i was being a wagecuck. Glad to not have coworkers anymore. This shit is almost as as easy as being an AH Baron in WoW. Just need to do your research and have common sense. A bit of luck helps too.

>mfw the meme and meme accessories guy's niche isn't even memes

I'm buying a gucci mane mousepad from you senpai :^)

You know we have IDs right?

Naw, really?
It's a crime to ask even though i know the outcome, amirite?

I was maybe hoping to get some thoughts even though i know people are tight lipped. I never said i wasn't a hypocrite. I mainly deal in used electronics and salvage and was wondering if anyone dealt with alibaba and maybe get an insight into what they dealt with. I subsequently made a salty post afterwards because i knew in my heart why nobody has said anything.

Quit looking for boogeymen, faggot, and go back to jerking off to your free chaturbate account.

fucking kek

>Think of things that you could possibly sell
>Check the competition
>Do better than competition

You can either
Goodwill -> eBay
(Need Uber acc + $100 to get started)

Alibaba/DHGate/Aliexpress -> eBay
(Need $100 and a computer)

College/Rare/Sets of Books -> Spam Amazon FBA
(Need Uber acc + $100)

Don't touch digital goods
i.e. Runescape gold and CoC accounts, etc.

If all fails, try /r9k

>implying they won't eat the crackers AND sell the package for dope
If they could into even short-term planning they wouldn't be homeless.

Ebay is fucking garbage, you have to pay to put something up for sale and thats no guarantee you will buy it. Its fucking trash dont use this bullshit

why do you need uber to buy at goodwill and sell on ebay?

He posted a pepe so I'm guessing he can't drive.

Uber ride to a Goodwill Outlet (not retail store) would cost him $8 so it's good price if he gets a ton of branded clothes at the outlet to sell on eBay.

Uber drivers might catch on after a month and start canceling his rides though, lol

also you don't have to pay anything to post on eBay

unless you plan on spamming the site with 50+ items then they will charge you. Just pay the $15/month for a store then you can post as much as you want.

Site has it's flaws, like A LOT. Just have to go with the flow...

>Buyer purchases laptop used laptop battery from HP workstation.
>Sell dirt cheap, worked great.
>Oh no it's broken now on the 30th day!11!
>Accept their return.
>Buyer never sends anything/uses label after 9 days.
>Call into eBay to have it closed.
>Buyer sends sob story to my PayPal email within minutes of case closing saying they bought it for their friend, and it didn't work, and he (buyer) was sick and couldn't get to the post office blah blah blah.
>Buyer looks at appealing return page on eBay, sends me screenshot of ic3.gov. Says they may file a police report/ic3.gov report.
>Kindly tell them that that only applies if they didn't receive the item/if I shipped it to the wrong address to defraud them/someone stole the item.
>Tell them not to file any false reports as that is illegal.
>Now worried that buyer is going to file false police report/FBI crime report.

FOR FUCKS SAKES, RETARDED BUYERS WILL BE THE DEATH OF ME.

I don't think you have too much to worry about.

youll be okay

...

what a fag

No sir it'sof no "unconvince" but I recommend you continue drinking and impulsively forget you wrote this message. You will love your purchase.

Quick question how much does a small, medium, or large flate rate priority mail box cost, or do they come free with using the service?
