How much money does it take to buy happiness?

How much money does it take to buy happiness?

Exactly $5,342,256.35 United States dollars networth at current Purchasing Power.

$3k/month passive income.
If you can't become happy with that just buy some rope to hang yourself.

>$3k/month passive income.

How much capital do you need to have to get that kind of monthly return?

You can't buy happiness, my friend.

Money only makes things easy.

Reliably? Depends on the dividends, but somewhere in the $500,000-$750,000 I'd wager.

Love

I gross about 1100 a month and I'm fine

$800,000

Not including taxes or anything a safe yearly return of 8%, accounting for an average of 3% inflation would give you $40,000/year.

What has the average annual inflation rate been since 2008 anyways? I don't think we're close to 3%

2% or so average, 3% can be safely assumed to be the average in the future though

$2.00

75k yearly.
Supposedly, any amount after that doesn't impact your life unless you nitpick small details.

Bout tree fiddyl

i saw a report today wich said more money only makes you happier till about $6k/month. after that you usually forfit happyness to gain higher amounts of money

If things bothered you before becoming wealthy, they will afterward too.
And it will bum you out more, because the things that piss you off the most can't be fixed with money.

The amount of money it takes to be happy, is simply "more than the people you compare yourself to"

All of it

enough

you can do pretty much whatever you want with 5 million bucks.

link?

I love that you guys think getting 7% returns annually is easy and reliable.

Will be laughing when your money evaporates every 8 years due to recessions.

>I love that you guys think getting 7% returns annually is easy and reliable

It is the yearly average of the s&p500.

Yes, over a long period.

What happens when you're reliant on your passive income, and the economy is midway through a crash.

Your portfolio's value has dropped 50%, there's high inflation.

How are you going to pay your bills/etc?

You create your own happiness

That question is not possible to answer. What you should ask is:

How much money is enough so I can search for happiness with out worrying about finances?

How?

>How much money does it take to buy happiness?

For me happiness = peace of mind

pace of mind = being able to afford the things I want

things I want = good food, nice house, nice things

So to be honest, enough money to live a comfortable middle class lifestyle without debt stress... that's enough for me.

Inflation protected government bonds?

bout tree fiddy

A bit more, as always.

according to my estimates
2.4 million dollars in a savings account so I can just live off the yearly interest. and do what ever I want. given its not too opulent

>things I want = good food, nice house, nice things
>materialistic desires
sorry my man but you won't be happy

> Economy is crashing
> Inflation is high
Probably stop living in 70s

Twice as much as you have.

>the things that piss you off the most can't be fixed with money.

Speak for yourself.

I bet that would have gone over great at Auschwitz.
