Just went on the website again and it looks like that have another position that opened yesterday so ill be applying to that.
How long is the hiring process?

Takes a bit of time. Positions will go up for like two weeks, then they schedule an interview which might take two weeks after that, then they let you know normally a week after that, then you need to get your drug test and physical done, then you go to either Chicago or Toronto and do a few weeks of training.

Not the OP, but in Australia the WGEA (Workplace Gender Equality Agency) has even gone after exposing small businesses by naming and shaming those who don't adhere to gender ratios, and the thing is - most very small businesses do end up having women anyway, because women have inherent qualities that increase their chances of being employed - people (and especially women) like to deal with (other) women, so most receptionist\front of house workers will end up being women.

Women have so many options available to them even PRIOR to gender discrimination on their behalf. It doesn't matter that as a small business you could very easily get away with hiring only men, what matters is that as soon as your business starts to become very profitable and starts to expand...you're going to start coming under the radar of those who enforce these rules... so for male employees, this sucks shit.

This means all males are basically pushed to the outside of society where there's more competition between them, where there's more financial risk and so on.

I've got my electrical engineering technician - power diploma from Mohawk College as well and 2 years experience as an apprentice electrician so we'll see what happens.

My theory is women are better at retaining details. Women always remember dates, when this happened, etc. but I think men at better at the application of information. I'm sure there is some genetic conditioning from the years of each fitting a certain role in a family. I can't tell you how many times I've met a girl with excellent grades but can't handle the unknowns of the real world. They also make terrible managers. I'm biased though.
