Which Islam? Different sects ban different things.
Here's the only important sin you need to know regarding that.
>[3:94] Those who fabricate false prohibitions after this, and attribute them to GOD, are truly wicked. >[5:87] O you who believe, do not prohibit good things that are made lawful by GOD, and do not aggress; GOD dislikes the aggressors. The majority of things banned in modern Islam are contrary to the teachings of the Quran which states that only things banned by God should be prohibited. It is a sin to ban anything else. Even Muhammad got in trouble for this >[66:1] O you prophet, why do you prohibit what GOD has made lawful for you, just to please your wives? GOD is Forgiver, Merciful.
Nathaniel Wright
how does God prohibit things though? what things have been prohibited by God?
Dominic Carter
Quran states most of those things on the list while the rest come from what I believe to be reliable Hadiths is the Quran not the word of God?
for one that's pretty out there you could look for black magic >and the people learn what harms them and does not benefit them, but the children of Israel certainly knew that whoever purchased the magic would not have in the hereafter any share, and wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew Quran 2:102
why would certain sects not follow this and not ban magic?
John Garcia
>how does god prohibit things
The ten commandments?
James Thompson
Through the Quran. The Quran doesn't support any hadiths. I'm not disagreeing with everything on the list but if it isnt banned by the Quran, ie God, then Muslims have no right to say its forbidden religiously.
Benjamin Lopez
are these the only commandments? did God not send his only begotten son to earth to spread a new word? Did God not send Jibril to teach Muhammad so that he could spread a newer new word?
what is the Quran to you if not the word of God? as I said most of the things I listed come from the Quran or reliable Hadiths
Ryan Clark
are Hadiths not sayings of the prophet? Are all Hadiths shit? Islamic scholars don't seem to agree with you, or are you a Wahhabist/Salafi?
Dominic King
>are Hadiths not sayings of the prophet? Are all Hadiths shit? Yes, Yes, and No. Salafists are extremely in favour of the hadiths and mostly downplay the quran. I am an ex muslim quranist.
Parker Myers
>If the rich literature of Hadith is assumed a splendid collection of pearls, Al-Jami'us Sahih of Imam al-Bukhari rahimahullah is rightfully privileged to be called a gigantic ocean serenely flowing for the providence and safeguard of those precious pieces of magnificence. A vast, yet shore less ocean having lavishly quenched the thirst of many, it is unanimously held in the high esteem of being 'the most authentic book after the book of Allah' by advocates and adversaries alike. guessing you wouldn't agree with this then but why? why are Hadiths shit? why do some consider them oceans of pearls and highly reliable as words spoken by the prophet?
Austin Foster
>people in this thread ACTUALLY think the Hadiths are valid
Quran alone is the sensible way
Enjoy hell, kaffir
Henry Torres
seems like a good many people believe you are the one going to hell for spitting on the words that >slipped from the lips of the prophet (swt) as a secondary form of revelation to the Quran
Alexander Moore
Please explain what surat al masad is about, without any extra quranic input. Also explain the meaning of surat al kawthar please.
Colton Russell
>why are Hadiths shit? Lets see. Written down 200-400 years after Muhammad died, based on word of mouth oral transition, thousands of them ranging from the totally absurd to weird random shit like Muhammad slept on his left side (who cares). They mostly contradict each other, they sure as hell contradict the quran big time, they glory and promote idolatry of Muhammad, and they seriously promote violence and conquest (considering they were basically invented by later leaders to justify their shit)
They are the biggest scourge on Islam and need to be dropped. The idea that Islam cannot be understood without them is basically heresy since it directly contradicts God.
[7:185] Have they not looked at the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all the things GOD has created? Does it ever occur to them that the end of their life may be near? Which Hadith, beside this, do they believe in? [12:111] In their history, there is a lesson for those who possess intelligence. This is not fabricated Hadith; this (Quran) confirms all previous scriptures, provides the details of everything, and is a beacon and mercy for those who believe. [31:6] Among the people, there are those who uphold baseless Hadith, and thus divert others from the path of GOD without knowledge, and take it in vain. These have incurred a shameful retribution. [39:23] GOD has revealed herein the best Hadith; a book that is consistent, and points out both ways (to Heaven and Hell). The skins of those who reverence their Lord cringe therefrom, then their skins and their hearts soften up for GOD's message. Such is GOD's guidance; He bestows it upon whomever He wills. As for those sent astray by GOD, nothing can guide them. [77:50] Which Hadith, other than this, do they uphold?
Note, this translation retains the Arabic word, which is literally hadith, in these verses. Others translate it to say stories, fables, etc, which is the meaning of hadith.
Ryan Roberts
[111:0] In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful [111:1] Condemned are the works of Abee Lahab, and he is condemned. [111:2] His money and whatever he has accomplished will never help him. [111:3] He has incurred the blazing Hell. [111:4] Also his wife, who led the persecution. [111:5] She will be (resurrected) with a rope of thorns around her neck.
There was a guy called Abee Lahab, he was very rich but thought it would save him from Hell, which it wouldn't because he and his wife were bad because they persecuted people.
[108:0] In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful [108:1] We have blessed you with many a bounty. [108:2] Therefore, you shall pray to your Lord (Salat), and give to charity. [108:3] Your opponent will be the loser.
You have been given wealth and plenty by God, so pray to him, and share your wealth to those less fortunate. The people who are against you, the pious, will lose.
Michael Green
>thousands of them ranging from the totally absurd to weird random shit like Muhammad slept on his left side (who cares). lel, be pretty curious to discover what side Christ slept on you seem to group in all shitty Hadiths generally disparaged by Islamic scholars with those accepted as good and true
>[31:6] Among the people, there are those who uphold baseless Hadith, and thus divert others from the path of GOD without knowledge, and take it in vain. These have incurred a shameful retribution. yes BASELESS being a key word here, it doesn't say "there are those who uphold hadiths and they are wrong", but hadiths that don't represent the prophet in a good light
>Islam really makes your mind think differently to logical Western thinking hey now nigger I live in the West and a lot of group-think here is generally not logical in nature
Xavier Hill
>you seem to group in all shitty Hadiths generally disparaged by Islamic scholars with those accepted as good and true There is no distinction, they decide whats good and true based on what suits their personal view of Islam or whatever they want to support. I do agree that you can get a general overview of the Life of Muhammad from them, but as far as specific details go its far fetched, and they certainly should not be used for religious guidance or prohibiting things as that completely clashes with the quran on many separate issues, mainly not banning things not banned by god, and not needing any other religious book but the quran.
>Baseless Doesn't matter if the hadith have basis or not, they are not needed
>6:114 - "Shall I seek other than God as a judge when He has sent down to you this Scripture fully detailed" Those to whom We have given the Scripture know it is sent down from your Lord with truth; so do not be of those who have doubt. >16:89 - And on the day when We will raise up in every people a witness against them from among themselves, and bring you as a witness against these-- and We have revealed the Book to you explaining clearly everything, and a guidance and mercy and good news for those who submit. >7:52 - We have given them a scripture that is fully detailed, with knowledge, guidance, and mercy for the people who believe.
Adam Scott
>Doesn't matter if the hadith have basis or not of course it does
>they are not needed to avoid the sins that the prophet abhorred I'd think they would be
Easton Cruz
It doesn't matter, its irrelevant to practising the faith. >to avoid the sins that the prophet abhorred I'd think they would be Who cares? The prophet was not god, he could not prohibit things, only God could. The Quran says that right here >[66:1] O you prophet, why do you prohibit what GOD has made lawful for you, just to please your wives? GOD is Forgiver, Merciful.
If you disagree as a Muslim you are directly disagreeing with God. Sunnis think they are a higher authority than God.
Nathaniel Robinson
yes
Aaron Lee
>02. Murder >15. Running away from the battlefield Why is this allowed?
Jack Price
completely agree with u, most of the shit has been made up later that do not make sense
if u read the quran and think logically u will understand what is right and wrong and what is made up shit
Thomas Wood
My asshole, douchey Arab neighbour breaks alot of these rules but I guess he is not a Muslim
