Wardrobe basics

You've got $500, what would you suggest for a guy trying to update his wardrobe

shoes

>$500

used guidis

Jeans and a couple of nice t-shirts, but overall it just boils down to what your into, i would suggest flannels but that's because i dig them, some people makes shoes a priority and that's fine, but get what you both like, fit comfortably and synegizes with your outfits/styles OP

is there an H&M near you?

Mug a homeless person and go Veeky Forums until you can afford Armani suits, straight off the rack

>s-straight off the rack
Reeeeeeeee

It really depends on your age, environment and lifestyle, but this is what I would get for myself.

>A few 'natural' color Hanes Beefy T's (or white if you have cool skin tone)
>Navy polo
>Slim fit raw denim 511's
>A quality black leather belt
>Black Slim Fit Chinos
>A quality bomber jacket
>Nike Tennis Classics
>several slim fit short sleeve shirts
>Black socks

jesus fucking christ

Our lord and savior, yes

A couple Vineyard Vines t-shirts
A couple J.Crew shirts
A couple pairs of chino shorts from a brand that fits you best
A pair of Sperrys.

full *basic* rick

Yea it's not too far, plus there's a JCrew next to it

This, buy a pair of 998s

spend $200 on a nice jacket on grailed

spend $70 on 2 pairs of pants/jeans

spend the rest on a pair of boots and cheap adidas like gazelles

How can you purchase full basic rick for 5 hundo

y!jp

You can make a basic fit, not a full wardrobe.

That's the idea, I'm talking bare bones building blocks here

5 pairs of Vetements socks

black t
white t
grey t
white ocbd
black sweater
navy sweater
black jeans
black chinos
doc 1461
black vans

a proper wardrobe should consist of:

>home wear (what you wear at home, to sleep, when you have no plans of leaving your home, etc.)*

>out wear (what you wear to leave the house, do tasks, go shopping, visit friends/relatives, etc.)*

>professional (what you'd wear to work settings, business ventures, etc.)*

>formal (what you'd wear to weddings, events, funerals, etc.)*

>athletic (fitness/sporting gear)

>cultural (anything that denotes your culture, if applicable)

>special purpose (swimsuits, lingerie, sanitation suits, etc.)

if you're starting from scratch, focus on the 4 fundamentals first (*). lean towards neutral colors at first until you can begin to add color. focus on quality over quantity, and try not to put too much towards one category while disregarding the others.

is a good start.

Black boots
White trainers
Black derby shoes

That's all you need

>Black derbies (125$)
>Slim fitting black canvas pants (2 for 100$)
>Black socks (10$)
>Whatever top pieces you like. This can be sweatshirts, hoodies, buttoned shirts. or whatever. (265$ for several pieces)
There you have it, all for 500$. Just remember to buy your top pieces in plain colors. These pieces combined will make up for very basic fits, but it's a good starting point. You can add in another pair of shoes, like plain white trainers, for fewer top pieces but that's up to you.

Forgot to quote. I should also mention that the pieces I listed are generally considered as mature clothing, so you will not walk around looking like a teenager.

>a pair of dark blue and black jeans
>a pair of classic khakis
>a pair of black and grey dress pants
>a reversible black/brown belt
>a pair of beater sneakers you like, white or black
>a pair of black slip on loafers you like
>a pair of brown boots you like
>a new pack of white t-shirts
>a pack of grey deep v-necks
>a white button down shirt long sleeve shirt, get a black one too (you put the deep v-necks on under button downs)
>a few pairs of your favorite casual button down shirts with patterns you like, experiment with colors and patterns and themes. floral, plaid, etc to see what works on you
>a black tie

this takes a little more effort
>a black blazer
>a really cool vintage sport coat off ebay

tailor both
this is how i started out. i had the absolute basics for most outings. i grew my wardrobe from there, finding my true style and outfitting myself with a lot more interesting, and useful, clothes

Grailed + yahoo jp

Plain tees/tank tops/Tabards can sell $40-$100

Some plain DRKSHDW denim for $100~

Accessories for cheap as well (socks and whatever)

Beat to shit geos and ramones that are still wearable for fairly cheap

Shoes and afew shirts/ jackets.
Pants can last longer than those two.

For real?! I'm gonna have to look at yahoo jp, on grailed it's still 100+ for shirts and tanks
