I remember when SpaceJew used to post here in lunarcore threads and we had milspo/sandcore/gothninja/techninja/palewave/dadcore threads all the time and DiY threads were fucking amazing with ppl from all those threads making cool or funky pieces and posting their progress, fuck I still remember that Japanese Air mail canvas bag that was turned into a bomber, thought it was so cool and interesting I ended up picking up some ULTRA cheap Canadian Air canvas mail bags from like the 50s at a gun/militaria/antique convention with the plan to make them into a bomber or lunarcore/milspo esq tapered cargosbor something.

God..those were the days...
I also remember not having to deal with all the leftist propaganda and raiding going on now, that was pretty nice..

I remember when he was made fun of around here for being a cosplaying Nazi-worshipper with all his German antique milsurp shit. He turned out to be a great designer. Those were the real peak days. Before Raf and Rick worship and crass commercialism took over completely. I mean I like both of those designers, despite most of the Rick/Julius look not being my personal aesthetic, but the huge surge in their popularity, the shunning of everything "Dadcore" and the uniformization and lockstep conformity of taste that came soon thereafter was the end of me lurking here.

I'll admit though that having a grown up job now means I spend a lot less time doing neat DiY type shit than I did back then, and a lot more buying of other people's designs. Also I found enough of my own style to just need Veeky Forums less and less. Most of the stuff I see posted around here now when I drop in occasionally seems juvenile and laughable, but there are still bursts of creativity here and there that make me nostalgic for the golden years.

He's just memeing. Basically modern prep. Or a sort of "inauthentic" or non-traditional version of prep. . . i guess you could call it "prepcore" or something like that if you want. Sort of a trendier twist on traditional preppy styles, like say a traditional preppy outfit with slim-fit trousers or skinny jeans instead of grandpa slacks.

I still take a lot of queues from the prep school, old money, blue-blood New England WASP Brooks Brothers and J. Press, (and the Andover Shop for those in the know,) style I grew up with. Lots of oxford cloth button downs and well worn leather shoes, crewneck sweaters abound as do 3 button (and/or 3/2 roll,) tailored jackets with no structure and unpadded natural shoulders, often thrown on as casual outerwear in rough casual fabrics. My color palette is much more greyscale, white, navy and black though, and I like Japanese and Japanese American labels with a fair amount of more "out there" looks like Engineered Garments, Needles, (and the whole Nepenthes brands set,) Kapital, Visvim, etc.

Find them yourself, it's not that hard, I had completely forgotten about her existence until I happened upon this thread yesterday. Time to brush up on the old Google-fu, Asshopper.

Yeah man its a shame, I actually really liked SuFu. It's all instagram now. A lot of that culture sort of migrated to FourPins (RIP) and now Grailed, but there's no forum on Grailed and FourPins was limited to comments section, so its like that whole slightly older and wealthier version of the Veeky Forums crowd has no internet hangout spot anymore, it's all diffuse instagram cliques.

I remember everybody growing up and moving on was already the common consensus years back when I last lurked Veeky Forums.
