A lot of what you percieve as Slavs being Dixieboos is just a appreciation for the flag and its connontations of rebellion. There is a lot of legitimate appreciation of Southern culture, though. Western Europeans see close cultural bonds with the rest of America, Eastern Europeans see it with the more conservative, agrarian part of the US.

What's with the braces?

When the subculture originated in the Uk it was heavily based around being working class and working for a living. Clip on braces were only really worn by the working class (Not sure why, have heard because they will just unclip themselves from your trousers if they got caught in any machine while at work in a factory or whatever, not sure though)
After the formation of the subculture (Late 60's) Braces weren't really needed or widely worn by people as much as in earlier years but became a staple part of the look.
Braces any thicker than 1/4 inch will make most skinheads think you're a poser now-a-days
(Lots of certain rules on dress have become the norm recently)

Raggare likes the lifestyle of the 50s, with the cars and music, Some are more trashy then others, Some have really really fancy cars, others are willingly destroying their car to make it look more trash

Boots have to be straight laced (Although that's been a rule for pretty much forever in the skinhead community)

well, I mean its true. For exactly the reasons you posted.

America "won" the world wars. we came out relatively unscathed, but still got to have the "glory" of soldiers serving heroically in battle (a useful thing to have to rally nationalism and patriotism).
We finished each one in a great economic position, plus after the slaughter and destruction we got the opportunity to provide the goods to rebuild europe, obviously a huge economic boon.

Additionally, in both wars we came in near to the end and were "there" when the war was won, making it easy to imagine that we were the key force in causing that victory.

Now if someone were to say "America caused the victories in WWI and II, that person would rightly be called a moron. But if you're considering the outcome of the war in terms of how the nation was before vs after then yes, America really did "win".

I know active skinhead scenes across the US and some of europe, namely france sweden and uk. the easiest way to get involved is find the closest active skinhead or oi band (or label)
and start going to their shows. i bet i can find the closest scene for you if you wanted to check it out. you also might have to sniff out local street punk(not d-beat or crusty gutter punk or some weirdo indie punk) scenes or hardcore scenes because skinheads can turn up there. I do.

some things I've noticed. on skins ive only ever seen black or white laces, it doesnt mean anything to anybody. punks where other color laces. also maybe because skin scenes are smaller I've almost never seen anyone fighting anybody based on dress or whatever. you'll get made fun of for sure but no ones gonna waste their time getting kicked out of somewhere because of fights. i know its a culture based on "aggro" but ill ive seen have been parties and beer drinking and occassionally the same lame ass he said she said drama/internet drama that plagues any scene
