Is there a respectable hat designed for formal wear that is not a goddamn fedora?

Is there a respectable hat designed for formal wear that is not a goddamn fedora?

Formal wear? No

That is a TRIBLY and it looks better than whatever the hell JUSTIN BEIBER is wearing these days.

I swear to god you swine have absolutely no culture, no CLASS, and probably very LOW INTELLIGENCE.

I cant believe how this board has gone downhill. Im done with this website.

If you're gonna correct someone, at least spell trilby right faggot.

Obviously top hats, speaking of formal. Fedoras are not formal.

if you mean suit level of formality, homburgs.

I feel like someone could put "THIS IS A TROLL POST" in their name field and fuckers like you would still respond like idiots

There are fedoraish style hats in the Bavarian mould, you can find some excellent felt hats in a variety of styles in that genre. Without being a bloody fedora of course.

More "fedora" bait.
> formal
kys

Believe it or not, there are occasions where you might be required to dress up.

Just have hair lmao

But there is absolutely nothing "formal" about a fedora.

Even if you go back to the old stereotypes, here it's worn with a cheap suit and army surplus raincoat.

Guys who were dressed up wore a homburg, bowler, or top hat.

>falling for this bait

No modern dress occasion calls for any sort of hat or head gear, unless it's top hat and tails for the coronation of Yuropeen royalty, or a Halloween masquerade ball of some sorts, as a costume.

...

Here in Yurop there is the ocasional ultra rare morning dress event with top hats... but generally not even in royal weddings.

A trilby IS a fedora. Stressing that distinction is like if someone said jeans are pants and you said "NO, they're jeans!" Obviously jeans are a kind of pants.

...

no. trilby is a type of brimmed hat, like fedora. trilbies are not fedoras. funnily both derive their names from popular plays of the time

wow that's a new level of neckbeard

Why is this? Why did people stop wearing hats?

No purpose for them

Snapback with obnoxious branding on it for extra irony

Driving cars, mainly. Less need for sun and rain protection, got in the way getting in & out of car.

The trilby became popular briefly as a small, unobtrusive token hat for occasions when a hat still seemed to be required to "complete the outfit" (like a cunt cap for the military), but when that convention fell away, there was no need for it. It was a pointless hat from its beginning.

If you walk outdoors much, you still should wear a hat for practical purposes.
