yea yea. remember what happened to LSK IOU? No thank you.
Robert Johnson
>It's not a pump and dump
Sure it isn't.
Leo Gomez
Im bullish for waves, i just downloaded the lite client and the interface looks very nice.
If it can really do everything it says it can do then it will be a killer app.
Jackson Cox
>Why are you still waiting for ETH?
Because, as a developer, I see potential in it.
It can be turned into a literal decentralized internet, on the internet via web apps.
Fuck that Crypto-shit, this is what gets be excited.
Decentralized fucking porn that no one can block.
Even Micro$oft is on board with it.
Zachary Brooks
ETH and waves are really two entirely different things.
Waves is more about exchanging fiat currencies it seems. ETH is the world computer
Kayden Morris
What about investing in IDNI Agoras tokens on tauchain invented by this guy youtu.be/Utggm7cuGbo
Jason Anderson
Oh look more cryptoshit. And "multiple" people in this thread came into promote it.
Invest immediately!
Jaxson Butler
You sound salty.
Joseph Hall
Embrace crypto my friend. Its here to stay
William Russell
Just direct them to the official crypto thread. Idk why it's so hard to just keep it to one thread.
John Thompson
This is the crypto board, not a board with a crypto thread.
Veeky Forums was created for crypto we own this place
James Walker
i don't know if it's because i don't know anything about business & finances, but all the cryptocoin stuff always seem so fishy or stupid. i suspect that most people that are into this stuff haven't actually made a lot of money before, but i don't know
Owen Johnson
Fishy?
Yes, its extremely fishy. Please do not invest and make easy profits.
Ethan Foster
Every single one except BTC and possibly ETH and LISK are pump and dumps
There is a vast amount of money to be made here. The trick is to not be greedy and sell before the owners dump and hand you the bag.
Andrew Jenkins
Waves is less scammy than lisk. Lisk doesnt even work and the whole concept is worthless and pointless
Waves is a real thing that is useful
Connor Myers
dw shill, ill play ur game but im selling long before you will senpai
Adam Diaz
>WAVES release is in 3 days. >it's already being sold uhm, OK
Blake Hill
see this Waves is NOT opened for trading. They are trading a "placeholder" thata will be worth a shit in a few days
Jaxon Harris
Any predictions on how it will perform in the market?
Justin Price
probably $2-$4
Jeremiah Rogers
I wanted to make a joke.... but the memories... them feels... take my ad/v/ice, play this game if you want 5 well spend hour with a fucking sad ending ;___;
BTW: someone should make another game called "to the moon" aka. crypto-coin simulator 2016, and shill it on Veeky Forums
Isaac Thompson
Start at just over a dollar, dip to 30 cents, bounce and stabilize near 45 cents.
Nicholas Wright
you wish. it will be $3
Jacob Kelly
>to the moon
I see you are a man of excellent taste user.
Colton Kelly
This one is on my watchlist for sure. Top 5 coinmarketcap at launch 4 sure.
Connor Ortiz
Yeah he just named one of the big design flaws in ETH. Question is how big is the potential market for the kind of provably correct smart contracts he is talking about. Id say its pretty niche. Thx for posting though.
Lincoln Sanchez
it's a very esoteric and patrician altcoin for the discerning investor
Nathaniel Fisher
Just read the IPO thread. None of their claims are in any way accurate. Here's a brief list of refutations: * They claim to be the first decentralized crowd funding platform - Lighthouse currency exists and was released -years- before WAVES -- there are probably even more platforms than this too. * They claim to be the first decentralized stock exchange platform. Incorrect. Everything that they suggest was already possible using Counterparty and other projects. * They claim to be the first decentralized exchange. Incorrect. Numerous exchanges already exist such as Bitsquare, Bithalo, Coinffeine, etc. (There were practical decentralized exchanges in 2013.)
It seems to me like they're aiming mostly at asset exchange so let me just give you some advice as one of the people who worked on early decentralized exchange systems -- don't invest. There is no money to be made in this sector as centralized systems work better for the end user and decentralized systems offer no benefits over centralized systems other than security which is invisible to the user.
If you like high risk trading you might be able to make money on the initial pump if you buy in early enough but this is definitely not a long term investment.
Carson Reyes
i actually disagree strongly.
I think this russian has the balls to pull it off. the angle is basically to not reinvent the wheel but do it all quickly. and get fiat gateways open as fast as possible.
if he can take over some of the remittance game with all this fiat shenanigans then it could be huge.
Charles Wilson
why the fuck does everyone have such a hard on for smart contracts?
it's just fucking code? nobody is going to use your shitty cyptocurrency just so they can run some code.
if it's actually useful, the banks will develop their own networks and business will use that. nobody apart from autists gives a fuck about decentralization.
William King
Let the autists figure it out, you can use it when it just werks. good coping until then.
Henry Hill
>who cares about decentralisation
I think we are all coming to realise just how important it is.
Joseph Smith
>lol i can't address any of the points so i'll post a snide comeback lol
fuck off
why? there is no accountability with decentralisation, who do you sue if something goes wrong and costs you millions? how does a business quantify this risk?
Brody Richardson
The beauty of it is there is no one to sue.
Nicholas White
businesses want accountability. who will make the call to use a system where they are left with no recourse if something goes wrong? and for what, to save a few dollars in bank fees?
i don't get it. would you buy a new car with no warranty if it meant you could do it anonymously?
Daniel Martin
Just put 3 BTC on WAVES.
This ride is gonna be EPIC
Justin Allen
Nothing goes wrong though, its a blockchain, you can rely on it to behave a certain way
Dylan Martin
is your claim really that nothing will ever go wrong? why the need for lightning networks? why do new currencies/networks keep getting developed, each one claiming to be better than the previous? what happens if adoption outpaces development?
i think my initial questions also remain unanswered. aren't smart contracts just code (i'm not trolling - it's an honest question)? what's stopping banks doing the same thing, without forcing their customers to use volatile cryptocurrencies?
Matthew Gomez
I'm new to this board and crypto-currencies so what would you recommend as a good broker to go through for trading?
Levi Price
>is your claim really that nothing will ever go wrong? yes >what's stopping banks doing the same thing, without forcing their customers to use volatile cryptocurrencies the volatile cryptocurrency is the whole point of the things. you're basically asking why won't banks voluntarily dissolve themselves
Adam Allen
poloniex
Isaac Nguyen
>yes lel. can you name ONE other piece of popular software that hasn't had bugs?
>the volatile cryptocurrency is the whole point of the things ok, how does a business benefit from using volatile cyptos vs fiat? more to the point, why does almost every business that claims to accept cyptos partner with an exchange and actually get paid in fiat (ie - they don't really accept cryptos, the exchange does, and they pay the company in USD/whatever)?
Jeremiah Davis
try using it before you pass judgement. cryptos are usually very open and are becoming more user friendly. waves seems to be one of the most user friendly looking i have seen so far
Lincoln Wright
I'll admit I was skeptical of waves at first. I bought in with the 20% day one bonus and did a few bounties figuring I'd dump asap for a quick profit. The more I see out of the waves team the more I think it is a long hold though. The lite web client looks and functions amazingly well, the main chain is running smoothly and the devs actually seem to know what they are doing. They're making the lisk launch look like amateur hour.
Aiden Flores
i have a bitcoin wallet and i've played with mining alt coins. i don't think anything is as 'user friendly' as fiat.
i'm not against cryptos, i just don't 'get' the fundamental driver behind them.
David Reyes
What are you having difficulty with?
Isaiah Thomas
i don't see why business would adopt it over fiat. nor what's stopping banks from creating their own networks for smart contracts.
Henry Ross
never trust a russian with my money.
Daniel Adams
>Raised $14 million in the ICO >in the ICO >ICO occurred in the past
what's the point now? The first tier ponzi bracket has already closed out.
Joseph Garcia
the main features have not been implemented yet.
the ICO was to generate funds to implement them, such as fiat gateways, decentralised exchange, voting etc.
each time one of these features is implemented the price will go up.
waves has the possibility to take over the remittance market in a big way, so the market cap could be billions easily.
that's still 50X profit to anyone buying when it hits exchanges.
Alexander Foster
waves could be the next ETH.
Jace Rogers
>tfw you wish you invested more while the ICO was still ongoing... guess its still better then being a nocoiner..
Chase Clark
>waves has the possibility to take over the remittance market in a big way, so the market cap could be billions easily.
or it could be nothing as the 'next big thing' comes out and replaces it, much like waves is pitched to replace eth.
ps. nobody is using eth either, despite the shilling.
if there is value in smart contracts the banks will build their own systems.
by all means, buy into waves if you think it'll go up and ride the hypetrain, but let's not pretend there's anything of actual value here.
Logan Adams
waves is nothing like ETH the OP is confused.
waves wants to concentrate on asset markets and currency exchange, it's not in the business of developing it's own scripting language or anything like that.
waves is also russian, and they will be taking in some of the russian currency craziness.
waves could be as big as BTC for moving money around, protecting from inflation etc.
Jayden Ortiz
Getting real close now. Post your ico investments gentlemen.
Kayden Thomas
sitting on 5500 here, small time i know, should have bought more...
Parker Russell
shalom brother
Joshua Evans
at what price would you guys dump? is 10x even realistic?
Justin Russell
I'd say its very realistic. I'd say a 3x opening is more than likely, and if enough people believe and the devs keep at it, 10x in the next year is extremely likely.
Grayson Morgan
I missed this ICO. Made a bundle on Lisk and I bought into Rise, though.
Maybe I'll buy after the inevitable pump on release.
Austin Torres
Thing is sasha says they are going to concentrate on business and run it like a business.
Expect to see a lot of money flow through the platform, this guy is connected and knows what he's doing
Hunter Hernandez
>WAVES is a coin stopped reading here. thought it would be something cool like maybe a video game but it sounds fucking trash
Noah Jones
I put 2 btc in but I'm not sure my account is verified properly (never received a verification email) so I'll have to see if I can actually get my coins...
Christian Thompson
How is waves any different from BTC then?
Julian Diaz
Are Polo adding it tomorrow?
Mason Lewis
>there is no accountability with decentralisation, who do you sue if something goes wrong and costs you millions? who do you sue when banks crash the entire economy with no survivors?
Julian Jones
>i don't see why business would adopt it over fiat. nor what's stopping banks from creating their own networks for smart contracts The whole idea behind smart contracts and cryptos is that they aren't in control of one entity. This type of proprietary bank owned blockchain completely defeats the purpose. If you're talking about a private corporate blockchain used only internally then that's something else all together, and would make sense with your idea.
Jace Taylor
9440 waves
Asher Wilson
Anyone who can day trade and read charts should sell if it goes 2.5x ico on launch. If you dont understand that shit then just hold long. it'll be bigger than what eth currently is in a year.
Eth might've grown bigger by that point though.
Short of it is this is the biggest thing since eth
Jordan Cooper
did release get delayed?
Ayden Powell
with 99.99% certainty it wont start trading today.
Most likely tommorow, but might be a couple more days.
Jacob Richardson
I'm from Australia, where do I buy this currency? and will it trade back to AUD>
Cooper Thompson
Does anyone know anything about when Waves will hit exchanges?
If so, source please.
William Reed
It will depend on the exchanges themselves apparently
David Wood
Sasha: exchanges have fullnode code arleady, they are integrating
they've come further than i initially thought, so maybe early tomorrow gmt is my guess.
Michael Lopez
Alright, thanks
Camden Brooks
Bamp
Isaac Evans
What do you think the price will be?
Carson Phillips
5 bucks
Easton Mitchell
Where the fuck are exchanges? What bullshit this is? It has bigger potential than etherium! I'll have to postpone my lambo buying for now
Benjamin Sanders
Fuck you Sasha you are killing the price!
Grayson Lee
From what he said, the code is already released to exchanges, its up to the exchanges to implement them
Anthony Sanchez
Fucking ruskie should release statement about current situation , but he chooses to be fuckboi
Levi Turner
I'm in the ICO panel, how do I transfer my waves here to my wallet? And where do I download a wallet? Or can I just transfer my waves here to an exchange when they open?
Brandon Sanders
Make a new address in the liteclient. On your ICO account you can enter the address. Funds will be send there some time later (process happens once a day).
Kevin Cooper
Where's the liteclient?
Caleb Martin
Damn this is fucking abysmal, no idea why I gave my money to these guys. There's no app to start in the liteclient zip, and when I try to open the index it takes me to a broken firefox link with no pictures.
Ryder Torres
just get it from the chrome appstore, what's so hard to understand?
Carter Kelly
>Chrome
Charles King
well we all just got scammed didnt we
Ethan Williams
thanks OP. just added coin to my list of filters
Joshua Ortiz
You're an idiot m8
Alexander Gonzalez
no it wasnt faggot
Isaac Rogers
It totally was. This is a contamination board. I remember /g/ being filled with cryto threads before Veeky Forums was created.
Samuel Howard
yes it was newfag
it was made contain the great DOGE threads on /g/
Dylan Hill
Then fags like you started coming here and saying
>how do i become le rich man? >turn $500 into $1000000? >memestocks >pennypumps >working for the banks general thread
