Any written Hebrew inspo?

Manga characters kissing.

Yeah, it's called the Tanakh. You don't need inspo for caligraphy. It's words.

PICKING A RANDOM FROM FOLDER SRY IF ITS BEEN POSTED HERE BECAUSE I SAVE A LOT FROM FAH

Got this one a couple weeks ago

Cute. Where's it from?

looks cute, but a grown ass man has no business having that on his body

> No male can ever have tattoos relating to child material

Post tats

Thanks! It's a Japanese pop punk band.
a grown ass man has no business wearing shorts so I think I'll live

Is this really only the third tattoo inspo thread?

This would look dope AF on someone with tanner skin.

Not at all. I got sick of wading through the same ones for the past year though. People will at least be able to go back and look at old threads.

cute

Good job!

Considering I have a tattoo on my wrist, how unemployable would a tattoo like pic related make me? Also, do hand tattoos hurt considerably more than other areas (not counting fingertips)?

> Considering I have a tattoo on my wrist

I'm assuming this is your only tattoo and that it is also a fairly small piece. Pic related would make you very unemployable and bar you from all military branches (atleast here in the US).

Anybody I see with a neck/face/hands tattoo and no other visible tattoos goes on my 'dumbass' list immediately.

Not to mention most reputable artists, probably 99%, of them would tell you no or at least heavily reconsider.

I'd rather a desk clerk have a full body suit, face and all, before no visible tats with one on the hand.

Can you explain the rationale for your view please?

Sure, you seem reasonable enough.

To put it simply, tattoos are body modifications. You may not have realized but they are also a form of art. The difference between a artist such as a painter and a tattoo artist is the fact that you are bound to carry that design until you drop. Simple stuff right?

The issue is that it comes with a different sort of perception. Artists deny people who desire hand/face/neck tattoos early on because they don't want to burden naive and impetuous people like yourself. They, unlike yourself, understand how much scrutiny and ridicule you will face and they don't want to be responsible for that.

Not only that, but they also get shit on as an artist for doing that by their peers. You look like a sleezy shit who would do anything for a couple dollars and that's just not how the industry works at the professional level.

It's also a quality issue. Every single person that finds out who tattoo'd that eye on your hand will link the quality of the work to the artist Now you've got this customer who's a liability to your reputation and have to touch up constantly, most often for free.

Artists stick to people who have been tattoos multiple times with visible tattoos because, odds are, they've faced some sort of stigma or discrimination. Your little wrist ink doesn't cut it for this qualification. Those people aren't so much a reliability because they've got history and trust built up in the industry.

TLDR; You'll have to see a shitty artist so you can be discriminated against because nobody can know that your not stupid and naive. Shitty artist do shitty work and the No.1 place you can absolutely not have shit work is hands/neck/face.

I see. I forgot you were a tattoo artist. Thanks for the explanation. I understand now.

I'm not an artist. There are people with far more tattoos that post here.

...

Leliel-kun, advice for someone with shitty skin?

I have body acne that scars up and pushes ink out of my tattoos. My original plan was to cover up the places I usually break out with tattoos to make them less obvious, but the plan has kind of backfired.

Can post pics, but they're a little gross and rather embarrassing.

Working on a traditional sleeve.

Got this Quyen Dinh inspired piece last week.

really bad idea to get a tattoo there unless you want to get it touched up every couple weeks. it'll fade quickly from everything your palms touch throughout the day and washing your hands and such

Sure. Your plan sounds like it had more than a few holes in it. When I don't know what to do, I ask my artist. In this case he would say, "I'm not a doctor go see one". Any advice besides 'ask your dermatologist' is just asking for trouble. Tattoos aren't something to take lightly medical wise. I'm sure whatever you've got can be fixed but trying to cover it isn't the way.

Cute. Is the eagle grabbing grapefruit or a flower?

>ANY YEAR, ANY CENTURY, ANY MILLENNIUM.
>MUTILATING ONE'S BODY.

DISGUSTING.

I don't have any medical concerns really, got all that on lock, medications and such.

Curious if you had advice on what would help most to cover/work with this mess or if i should quit while I'm ahead. This is just my left arm, and all I have besides a chest piece on the same side. Larger tattoo is three years old roughly, smaller a bit more than a year.

Hello, so I've been wanting a traditional tattoo for so long, but I've never found an artist in my area who specializes in traditional tattoos and is good at it, but recently I was recommended an artist, who works in a town relatively close to my city and I really dig his portfolio, but I'm not very knowledgeable, so can someone who knows better than me, tell me whether he's good, or I should search for someone better?

Here's some of his work: scontent.fsof3-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/26166091_1738459709553776_7060656249138690853_n.jpg?oh=77f3c98c019e1ec3498a540cf1c311d4&oe=5AB28252

Regular as clockwork.

Anyone have that image of a traditional wolf tattoo with a dagger in its mouth?

Stupid anime tat but how hard would this be to get?

in the anime they're on his palms

This was posted in the old thread and I really liked it. Would this be a good tattoo? And what would look best? squared as it is, or modify it to remove the square look?

Squared woodcut style is a total meme, as much as I love Masereel. I'd take the image to an artist specialising in blackwork and have him/her work out something based on it. Like, just have the airplane, sun and clouds in a balanced design and leave the sea out of it.

Yeah you're probably right. Thanks!

I have no idea how bad your condition will effect tattoos. That being said, since you started, you might as well finish. See a cover up artist.

I'm glad our general is popular enough to warrant your ilk.

Search for somebody better. I have a rule, if they aren't on instagram I wouldn't go to them. That being said, the best way to judge a portfolio, at least for me, is to judge the worst work in the past 3 months not the best.

>that image

That's flash dude. It's not exactly hard to find the design.

Shit tier for fma tats.

I'd think it would look good but the problem with keeping your work in boxes like this is that it looks funny without other boxed pieces with some overlapping. Kind of like a sleeve of manga panels. said it best. I promise you 30 other people already have this exact picture tattood.

You already know the answer to that question.

Is tribal really that awful?

I'm thinking about doing some South east asian tribal tatt because of
>muh heritage
and my interest in the region's history.
The thing being that it's an extinct tradition for centuries and people have only been reviving it lately so all meaning is lost and the only remaining designs known are from colonizers notes (pic is one of them).

I'm planning to do an entire leg, will it be impossible to detach myself from the polynesian tribal dudebro's?

Like imagine getting that amateurish drawing permanently on your skin. Imagine having to live with that. Get something cool or don't get a tattoo at all

>I'm planning to do an entire leg, will it be impossible to detach myself from the polynesian tribal dudebro's?

Yes.

Imagine being that much of a philistine you don't recognize an Eckel.

Literally retarded user.

What would you guys think about getting a tat similar to this, full back? No animals just the tree and I'd mess about with the design myself until I'm happy. Would be my first tat, but I don't want to get a tiny peice on my ankle or anything like "baby's first tat" because I feel like if I'm making a statement I shouldn't be half assed about it.
Any opinions? Is the tree imagery played out or could it work if stylised enough? Full back bad placement? Would be willing to spend as much money as it takes.

A lot of artists may shy away to doing an entire back piece as someones first tattoo. You might also want to think about the time, money, and lasting effects.

I wouldn't recommend using your biggest canvas first. There's something to be said for some smaller ones to begin with. They don;t have to be tiny, but in my opinion you only really get a grip of what is possible and what you like after the first two-three tattoos.

Does pointillism tattoo's age well?

>pointillism

Do you really need to ask?

yes faggot, answer my question

No, closely placed dots of ink dont age well.

I actually torn now. If brando doesn't answer about the stomach asuka idea I'm not sure if I like anyone else enough do take it to them. Jesper and a few others are close but I just don;t know if I;d be happy with that.

I had a second idea while looking at the weird side space I have. it would be interesting to have Sad Amish figures all one after the other onto the stomach. I could fit four or so I think, that'd probably look quite nice too.

Not him but this one really looks bad compared to the ones you posted. Looks like something an nerdy "artsy" highschooler drew.

Thoughts on this octopus tattoo? Thinking about getting one from him

He's good with his sea creatures. I can recommend.

thats a nice piece. i have to say i have just about the exact area tattooed but a little further down and it was hell around the sternum and nipple

>Not getting superior egyptian-inspired themed tats

...

Napoleonic is where it;s at.

Thanks

Unless You want them to be humongous, you can throw all that tiny writing out the window. I would not hold up. Without the tiny script, not hard at all.

>I'm planning to do an entire leg, will it be impossible to detach myself from the polynesian tribal dudebro's?

Only if you're white, which does not seem to be the case.

Those fingers are shit.

attention seeking “i have tattoos am i cool yet?” poor decision making retards.

makes a good point. You don't know how much a tat hurts until you've gotten one. And the psychology of realizing you've permanently marked yourself (good or bad, it depends). Most tattoo artists would shy away from doing something so big for good reason. There's no way to guarantee that you are truly mentally prepared to finish what you start and are sure you'll be happy afterward.

Makes and excellent point. Unless you are some tattoo-head who has been borderline obsessed with tattoos for years, I wouldn't just throw away half of your best canvas on something like that. You may intellectually think its what you want but I would personally worry whether you realize how precious that real estate is.

Also, personally, I hate bare tree tattoos.

>30 people out of 7 billion
chances are most people that see that won't have seen the same tattoo

Sure. That's great if you just want to be 'effay'. If you want some custom art then why copy?

holy fucking shit you're an idiot.
not a lot
>private studio

>instantly recognizable art

these look like fucking shit. im not just trying to put you guys down - they look like shit. it 100% looks like a high school girl's drawings. really fucking lame stuff. the fact that you cant see that is embarrassing and i'd be highly surprised if you're not a teenager

user, do you have any actual criticisms besides 'it looks bad'? Highschools could draw pic related but I'm sorry if you think that's all that matters because that's a rather poor excuse.

it's boring. it looks like a children's cartoon. it's totally devoid of any thought or emotion beyond "wow look at this cool wizard girl." the nose looks like shit, the fingers look like shit, the eyes look like shit. there is literally nothing attractive or interesting about that tattoo. the one you just posted with the eye is also unoriginal, tacky, boring, etc. if you have any of these, then you'd look like a walking deviantart profile. just a living, breathing catalog of the amateurish scribbles of """"artists"""" who are doomed to a clientele of teenagers forever because nobody with a developed prefrontal cortex would ever find any value in their work

is that better?

I mean, the hands aren't even done to be fair. Your criticisms of the facial features are once again 'it looks like shit'. You don't have any criticisms of the actual execution but instead focus on how you personally feel about the custom work they got. If it evokes emotion or you or not is irrelevant.

> if you have any of these, then you'd look like a walking deviantart profile. just a living, breathing catalog of the amateurish scribbles of """"artists"""" who are doomed to a clientele of teenagers forever because nobody with a developed prefrontal cortex would ever find any value in their work

Oh I see. This was never about the quality of the work. It was 'I don't personally like it therefore it is shit'. I see.

Post tats user.

that evokes emotion for you?

"wow me like da cartoon girl! she got powers!!! look at lfowers dey really cool" is not an emotion

look i'm not going to sit here and meticulously pick out everyhing i hate about that danny phantom-esque drawing. you're beyond persuasion, i only hope to talk rational people off the fence from getting something that fucking uncool put on their body. from the shit you've been polluting these threads with, i can only assume your body is already riddled with these trite doodles

What kind of autist judges the quality of personal art by the level of emotion it evokes in themselves?

>hello i'm here for the handshake

thats what art is...

You think people draw art only for others?

I dont think you know what Art is

that's literally the only way to judge the quality of art you fucking lunatic.

Do you think drawings of fruits aren't art because you don't feel anything looking at them?

this painting of fruit evokes a summertime nostalgia. it's warm and comforting, seems like something momma would have in the kitchen when i was growing up. there's a fullness to it. the colors, the space that is used up... it's an eyeful.
this drawing of a faggot wizard cartoon girl evokes a desire to bully a struggling art student out of infesting the world with more mediocre drawings

It evokes nothing for you. It's not your art, it's not your skin and it wasn't designed for you. Like I said, most tattoos such as this one, aren't designed for 3rd parties.

They are personally designed for each client. You may not feel anything but that could very well be the artists take on a photo a client brought of their deceased daughter.

Just because you don't understand the piece at an emotional level doesn't mean it's bad art you troglodyte.

you literally dont know what art is

fucking hell

I got a tattoo less than a week ago and some of it looks like its bleeding away under my skin. I read this is because the ink was deposited too deeply. How worried should I be and should I never go back to the tattooer again (haven't had touch-ups yet, obv)?

I feel like it's captured the idea of detail without providing an actually detailed artwork. 7/10. It's and octopus but i'm personally not a fan of how his style is displayed in this piece.

I wanted it because I'm a psychotic (not really) and an eye in the palm is a sign of psychics, seers, and are useful for warding of evil eyes and envy.

Okay, I'm actually psychotic but it wasn't for cool points personally.

You should give a definition since Webster isn't adequate enough for you.

By bleeding do you mean bruising? I've gotten bruising but everything healed up pretty fine. Should post a pic.

That tattoo is shit though, user.

Nah. I'll just wait and see. I know my tat is bully-bait. It if likely blowout since its most noticeable (although not very, I've just been scrutinizing it) around the edged of my wrist and on top of the wrist tendon. If it is blowout, does that mean I should never go back to that guy? Or is this just a thing that sometimes happens to professionals?

Good for you, user.

first off, anybody that gets ANYTHING from the fucking retarded tattoo in question should be rounded up, locked in a factory, and forced to assemble smartphones until they die.

second off, this is the most common bullshit you hear from people with laughable tattoos. "it's for me, not for other people." well your tumblr art would be just as meaningful on a canvas as it would be on your limp, deflated biceps, calves, or forearms. if you're putting something on display on your own body, you're doing it because you WANT other people to see it and you WANT it to influence their judgement of your character. and if you are autistic enough to think that the 2004 capeshit comic strip looking garbage which sparked this whole spergfest gives off any redeemable impression then you really are lost

I'm ready to switch from A&D to lotion. Most sites say fragrance free. How important is that? Can I put this on my tattoo?

there is no such thing as "his art" or "your art". art is art, once a work is displayed to a third party it can judged to determine if its art or not. and to determine if its art is the emotion it evokes.

a guy feeling special about something he made for himself isnt art, its just dicking around by yourself in the dark.

you could say that some of these pieces are personal and shouldn't be judged as art. sure, but then these personal pieces wouldn't be photographed and posted by some faggot on Cambodian bag weaving forum, but they have been which allows it to be seen and judged by 3rd parties whether its art or not.

plus you confuse art, with arts and the art

fucking hell

Fucking lel

correct

#
Not really sure without seeing a picture. Joints are more likely to experience blowouts and from a biological standpoint, can't always be avoided, assuming it is one in the first place. So, it's up to you wether to go back. You could drop his Insta and I could take a look?

Odds are that if it is a blowout, it will fix itself over time. If It doesn't then it's just got some character to it.

#
Ok user.

#
Ask your artist. If it's just coconut then it should be fine. It's are the more complex it is the more likely it will cause issues. Also, put some on your arm for a while before you use it. Putting a new lotion on your tattoo will destroy it if you have an allergy.

#
It's art the moment it's put on any displayable medium. Wether you personally like it or not is irrelevant. I'm not saying you shouldn't judge it. I'm saying it's art wether you like it or not and there are more aspects to art then emotional appeal.

>It's are the more complex it is the more likely it will cause issues.

Can you give me an example? The scent is just coconut but it has other oils and stuff in it. Here is the ingredient list.

btw i never said it wasnt art, i said it was bad art.

Sure. 99% of the time, stick with whatever your artist says is best. That being said, I think this is totally fine. Never heard anything bad about Allantoin and a quick Google says it should be good. I personally just use coconut butter.

Always, always test it off tattoo first though.

I've used it on my hand sporadically with no problems. Thanks.
