How are you able to afford your clothes

How are you able to afford your clothes
Itt post your job, career, salary, and age.

Hi I'm poor and go to community college. I'm 19 and I make 11 dongers an hour at taco bell.

I just buy stuff second hand, I'm able to achieve what I'm going for without spending much money at all.

Which is good because I'm a poorfag

I come from a wealthy family

Production Worker, 28K, 20 years old. No bills.

Most of my clothing is Hanes, Uniqlo and Gap. Most of my money goes into savings.

I'm also going to school for Fashion Marketing / Merchandising right now so I'm definitely broke to all fuck.

Also if I can add a question to this thread, how do you all budget your purchases? I know everyone has their holy grails and wishlist items, but how do you decide which to save up for first/cop first?

poor, 20, and i work retail at 12/hr, i just only buy secondhand or sale stuff. i save most of my money and only get stuff i really want, as well.

I still live at my parents and save most of my income, but occasionally I fall victim to consumerism. I have a few very expensive pieces from Rick or Julius but most is from Asos or similar.

You make 64 dollars per hour? Isn't that a lot?

It's roughly $133k before taxes assuming 40 hours a week, including vacation.
It's not too much, but I plan on eventually finding a SO, which will increase income.

I’m buying a lambo in June

>how to budget/choose
At any given time I have about 100-200 bookmarked links to clothes I want to buy. I just go buying straight down the list. I don’t play favorites unless something is exceptionally rare, interesting, well priced, or likely to sell out in the near future.

What is your clientele like? Is it mostly old ugly women or do you get good looking girls who pay for your services?

>28
>still live with mom
Are you not moving out because you’re paying off student loans?

What do you resell and where?

>buying a lambo on $150k a year

Darude isn’t 22. Darude was probably 22 in the 90s.

Putting $120k down on a 2015 Huracan 610-4. My payment will only be about $2k a month. I plan to keep it for 3 years. At that point I’ll have about $200k saved, the car will sell for about $140-$150k, I’m going to take all the money and use it as a down payment for purchasing an established business. At the end of it all, I lose ~$45k to depreciation over a period of 3 years in exchange for living one of my greatest dreams.

No ty

You’re probably not into cars so you don’t know the difference between single clutch & dual clutch transmissions but it means these cars are worlds apart. Basically, the gear changes on the aventador are very “dramatic” and make the car uncomfortable to drive at regular speeds. It constantly throws you back and forth every time the car changes Gear and ultimately make the car slower. With a dual clutch transmission the gear changes happen so fast you barely even feel them.

Dunno, job is both well paying and effay af, but clearly not something that gets you many friends. Also seeing all this shit every day hits you pretty hard, I started to suffer from depression half a year after I started (explains why it pays so well, shit fuck's you up mentally).

That doesn't pay well at all, you're not even making 30K a year

75-90k EUR

Dunno, I live alone in Germany and it's enough for me. Leaves me with ~850-1000€ after taxes and all expenses. 200€ for food, 100 for gas station, 100€ for going out, 200€ for saving up. Have around 400€ to spend on whatever I want in the end. Helps that I habe 0 debts and bad habits.

woah, how does the PhD system work over there? I'm doing a PhD in a STEM field in US and I get about $2500 a month for being a teaching assistant. The job itself is really easy but of course I have to do a ton of (unpaid) research. I don't think I'd have time to work an actual part-time job, considering my teaching job takes only like 5-10 hr/ a week.

Being a pharmacist requires getting a professional degree. Pharm schools are relatively competitive, and you have to pay for it. Imo 100k a year should be the minimum you'd expect to be paid after getting PharmD/PhD. Not everyone is spending their entire salary on Veeky Forums clothes lel.

>24

>apprentice engineer in the Air Force

>£18.8k

Not that guy but I’m doing a PhD too, my stipend is approximately the same as your teaching assistant salary

What field are you in? I don’t have to do any teaching assistantship but lab work is so much time that I can’t even imagine teaching alongside it.

As for the actual thread question, I don’t go out much except when I’m with my gf, only buy uniqlo or thrifted clothing so when I see an expensive piece I want I can cop without guilt or breaking my wallet.

I'm in math, so I don't work in a lab, just with my advisor. It's relatively lax for a PhD imo, I could probably get away with staying home all the time. We prove useless theorems for a living. I dunno how we get away with it lmao

Some friends of mine are doing PhDs (in other fields) where they have to work in a lab tho, so I know the grind.

Creative degrees are only hard to get a place. If you aren't doing communication design good luck finding a job afterwards, because field is comepletely oversaturated.
Marketing is shitty degree people who study economics think is "cool and creative". It's extremely boring and not "yo I will make cool advertising!" every student hopes for.

I'm on welfare and I shop mostly at Walmart

It's really hard to get out of this mindset if you don't have to, and don't have somebody to help you.

No addictions, live in an accomodation at work so rent is pretty cheap and got free electric, gas, water, etc. I could save more money if I wasn't eating for lean gains. I try to shop for the cheapest healthiest food tho, so I eat pretty much the same things everyday.

It's a very specific degree. It focuses mostly on the technical aspects of the fashion business i.e. Retail business & management, Retail Buying as well as personal styling, display merchandising and others. It's actually quite fun if you like clothes and like making clothes look good.

Save up for something you would like to do. At 19 you are still very young. Just try to get out of this job asap.

Job: Eh kinda hard to describe, but I typically tell people that I test headphones

Salary: 15 dollars an hour

age: 22

Please describe. I want to get money for testing shit.

job: dropped out of uni so do grunt work at a supermarket and cant see a way out
salary: 11 grand
age:22

What did you study and why did you drop out? If uni wasn't your thing how about going to trade school next?

I work for a company that sells aviation headphones, and I run them thru a quality control where they basically go in a machine that tests to make sure they can produce the min and max decibels that they should, and that the mic works and other shit like that

Then I'll wear them and make sure there aren't any pops or weird noises that the machine can't pick up

Gf makes the same. We do whatever we want.

whats up bladee

Pretty cool and comfy job. Did you need a degree for that or can anyone do the job?

Pretty much anyone can do it!

Cool, guess Î'll try finding something similar. Thanks!

>i really like looking at pictures of clothes and thinking about owning them.
this. sometimes I wonder why I even have an interest in fashion in the first place since I can't buy half of the shit I like.

correct genre (sort of), he seems like a cool dude tho

>I'm doing a PhD in a STEM field in US and I get about $2500 a month
Well... many factors come into play. I'm a non-white ghetto trash kid doing a PhD in a very small institute at my university. When I applied to the professor, she didn't ask for my chosen topic, she didn't say anything related to the actual process, but the very first thing she said to me was that she can't give me a job at the institute. I told her it's fine, and I also told her right away that I don't need a stipend either. I have always worked through life myself, and I will continue to do so. I take baby steps, but that's okay.
