I used to commute to work by bicycle in a major city, and I would have an "oh shit I almost died" experience every single day. I didn't wear a helmet, but can't shit on people who do. If you bike every day, the odds start stacking against you.

Now I live in a state with no helmet laws for motorcycles and some of the worst accident stats in the nation. Forget about bicycles. Motorcyclists here are absolute lunatics.
