Just lost my job again. This economy is absolute shit. How's it treating you?

Just lost my job again. This economy is absolute shit. How's it treating you?

Shouldn't have been a nigger bro, your first mistake.

buy the dao dip.
and eth.

it's flying back to the moon

I'm a fucking white male.

Stop whining you pussy.

That has nothing to do with being a nigger

>I'm a fucking white male.

NO AFFIRMATIVE ACTION FOR YOU!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME

kek

in 2015 i made 5x what i made in 2006. if you have skills that are in demand, this economy is great. learn something useful.

Why did you lose your job, lack of work or because you did something stupid?

When you apply for your next job, make sure to check off African American as your race.

You'll get tons more interviews and opportunities. I'm dead serious.

In my 20 years in HR, we've NEVER ever made a candidate prove his racial background even though we've had some very very light skinned blacks.

Fight the racist government quota system.

>Not just saying you're a tranny
Unless you work in a red state where this will trigger the christfag elephants that's the best ruse.

Why, do companies have their hands forced by the diversity meme?

because entitled liberals

>Why, do companies have their hands forced by the diversity meme?

If you want those big juicy $$$ government contracts, you have to play ball by arbitrary government rules.

Oh, btw for some specific types of quota hires, the hiring manager isn't even allowed to know the candidate is a 'quota' hire. Only HR is allowed that information and we basically can't tell anyone.

They didn't say. It was contract to hire. Just bullshit. Turnover there is nuts. No one there has been there more than 6 months.

If your business has over X amount of employees, the government requires you have X amount of diversified staff.

sounds like the same shit US steel does, they do hire people and lay them off right before the probation period ends for a week or 2 and then rehire them back so the workers never actually get to collect benefits etc

It's a bit different. Technically, I was working for the "staffing agency". There was a lady there that had worked there for a year without converting to a permanent employee. She didn't receive benefits. They just have fucked up people there.

Am a teacher and 4 years ago I would have said "shitty" because there were no jobs and the few openings there were received ~120 applicants. Was like winning the lottery if you got a spot.

But now? Retirements like crazy and there are so many openings. The few places I've taught in the past as an intern or a long-term substitute have been emailing me asking me to apply for their openings. Feels good to be needed and have options.

Of course, teachers don't make a lot of money but the vacation time is unreal. And time is more important than money, IMHO and despite being a Veeky Forumsbro. Besideses, the money isn't TERRIBLE.

>mfw just sitting at the beach all summer long drinking beer and "investing" in memestocks for the lulz

*besides

companies like that are bullshit and they wonder why the millenial generation doesn't want to contribute. Why would someone appreciate being a sub employee like that.
>inb4 blaming the employees work ethic
These companies do this to all their workers regardless of how good a worker you are

Yea, even the "perm" ones can get the axe at any time. No one was safe there. It was all political there. And if you stood out for being exceptional, they would try to get you fired so you don't get promoted over them or get them fired. Bullshit.

The economy hasn't been this good in almost a decade. If you can't get a job now it's you, not the economy.

5 * 0 is still 0

Become a prison guard.

>The economy hasn't been this good in almost a decade.

The past decade is hardly a good reference point. Wages haven't risen in 15 years.

>If you can't get a job now it's you, not the economy.

I can get a job. But all the work I've gotten this year has been bullshit temp shit. Even permanent jobs I've seen want you to work tons of overtime for a shit wage. And if you make one tiny fuck up there, piss of the wrong person, don't play the office politics game perfectly, you're gone.

So yea, the economy might be okay compared to 2008-2009, but it's still shit. We don't know how shit was in the 90's when companies were flying people free for interviews, paying for tuition, vacations, bonuses, etc. - shit that's unheard of today.

>Become a prison guard.

No, I'm a CPA. Thinking of getting into programming.

I just sit back and think wtf has this world come to. I doubt baby boomers had to deal with this type of workplace bullshit back in the 60s

Maybe not. But they're feeling the heat today too. Lots of boomers can't find jobs because they're too old and are competing with young people who get paid less, but are better than them with technology.

Hiring managers don't want to hire boomers that might be more qualified or experienced than them either. Companies also let go of older staff for a variety of reasons like they make too much and are less tech savvy.

Yeah and with less jobs on the market in general, more and more people will have to live with lower incomes. As time goes on, more and more wealth is distributed over a smaller and smaller group of people.

>we've NEVER ever made a candidate prove his racial background
literally illegal. legal precedent is NO ONE can tell you what race you are

So should I just say Im native american on all my job applications for big companies?
>I'm actually a white male

native americans are a weird one, as they are a special kind of minority, but yes. you are legally allowed to call yourself whatever race you god damn feel like.

hell, it might make you a senator

Here in cuckanada they seem to get a lot of special privileges.

oh well shit man, i dont know canadian law. i have no idea if "lying" in canada is a death sentence

I wouldn't be "lying" if I truly believed I was a native american but fuck I might as well take advantage of this whole new age self identification bullshit

Sorry buddy.

Start a business. Mine went good.

>losing your job
>2016

The economy isn't that bad. You have no one to blame but yourself.

lol stay delusional, the economy is no where close to where it was in the 70s

>lose job
>blames economy

ffs user, blame the real problem
[spoiler] the jews [spoiler]

i have 3 years env consulting experience. already looking for another job since my bosses have harped on my chargeability (~78%). it's not my fucking job to get work or send out proposals. i do the jobs.

i make rash decisions and im comfortable with it. i enjoy my job and location, but theres a part of me growing fond of the day i leave and they have no one else dedicated to a 1.5m contract.

>If your business has over X amount of employees, the government requires you have X amount of diversified staff.
There is no such law. Back to /pol/ you massive faggot.

Good luck hiring no blacks in Mississippi in your 1,000 employee company and not getting sued to oblivion.

>The economy isn't that bad

Compared to what? 2008? If you're comparing today's economy to 2008, I'd say you're right. It's not that bad compared to 2008. If you're comparing it to 1998, I'd say you are delusional.

>Get fired
>"It's probably not me, I know... I'll just blame the economy even though it's in some of the best shape it';s been in many years, there we go: All blame absolved!"

Lmao pathetic. Kys

If there's a law, then it's written somewhere. Show me the law, or leave Veeky Forums forever. kthxbye.

Doing fine as an IT guy in the non-IT sector.

>applying for jobs that ask for race
>applying for jobs with applications

Great sign you're in a saturated market or applying to work at a shitty company.

My workplace recently got 200 applicants for a labour job including people with engineering degrees and management experience

Such is the Canadian economy, I was recently turned down a job in some small town that got 120 applicants, if it was in a large city it would probably have 1000+

Yeah it doesnt matter what type of work it is, if its a good company with top employer awards and stuff, its going to have a fuckload of applicants and most likely have some kind of hiring minority quota etc

Was just about to make a thread but I figured my own story can fit here. I have constantly tried to do the right thing and having real jobs but multiple times so far I've gotten a job but then suddenly out of nowhere some sort of "Delay" happens and I can't actually go over to do said job like this is some kind of constant abusive joke to make me feel good about myself to tear it away again. Right now I am still "hired" and nothing's been said otherwise so I don't want to quit but I am so sick of it I don't wanna have to wait FOREVER to find something again starting this whole damn vicious cycle. But I hate waiting not knowing when the hell I can actually work. I'm just feeling constantly abused just because I'm trying to get myself started so late.

I mean it's nothing I personally do , I do the job fine it's usually because of bullshit higher up than my own boss and stuff. Hire freezes, Job load lessening, buildings needing to be built , contracts , lots of dif bullshit reasons depending on which place it was. If it was me getting laid of or it was me being fired because it was my fault I could accept it but not the case. Just let me fucking work already.

It's always suprizing to me when a country goes towards socialism and demonizes capitalism, they always seem so shocked when there are no jobs, money, and the sense of life began to fade into misery. Isnt that what they want? To rid themslves of the evils of greed?

yeah man, socialism is shit, yet more and more people think its the answer...

Nothing wrong with socialism if it's done right, just like capitalism. When they're not done right they both suck, which is what see today for the most part. Sucky-nonsocialism, and sucky-noncapitalism.

name one time when socialism was done right,
pro tip
>you cant

Jk

nigger is also a state of mind

kek

>And if you stood out for being exceptional, they would try to get you fired so you don't get promoted over them or get them fired.
Definitely seen that in both public and private sector. It's incredible how much failure management will put up with when they're that afraid. It's especially bad in IT because the other managers, lateral as well as above, will often just blame the users because they don't know or care how bad the software is.

Well there has to be a balance really. Have each other keep the other in check. Too much of either is bad.

lmao

>tfw get a job for 30/hr
>tfw the company shuts down within a week due to literally no sales

>This economy is absolute shit. How's it treating you?
As a hard worker in a stable company in a country that doesn't exploit the working classes, pretty good. I can afford nice things with my above-minimum-wage pay packet; a nice car, expensive booze, a summer holiday every year, and attending festivals and events around the country.

But then, I'm not a lazy fuck who's too stupid to work hard. I do good work, I get recognised for it, and nobody gives a fuck about me slacking off when work's slower so long as I get work done when it appears.

confirmed for australian

British, actually. Similar ethic; we take care of our working classes instead of treating them like slaves.

Great actually. I live in Jacksonville Florida, the weather and people are horrible, but they do have work if you are not lazy

>summer holiday every yeah

Yeah you are lucky because in America even if you can afford a decent vacation, getting that time off is practically impossible for some. We get exploited to death.

Six weeks paid leave a year. Four of which are mandated by law, the other two come from a 'personal day' that everyone assumes is another day of holiday, and bank holidays I can trade in.

i have a master's degree in electrical engineering; three years out of school.
i am employed so i guess the economy is fine.

>Just lost my job again
>again

user can't hold down a job so blames the ""economy""

It depends on if they were fired vs laid off. Laid off is usually not your fault.

I hit $100k networth in under a year out from college

Does Canada really have more jobs than the states? At first we were kind of gloating and sympathizing a little bit saying that at least we had more jobs. After a year of job searching I gave up and happily living off welfare, it also turns out I had a brain injury as a kid that the insurance never paid me for, so I don't feel guilty at all, I'm slightly mentally handicap.

Brain injuries don't hamper you. I got one last year, and the only real effect a few months on is slight memory loss and a lingering paranoia about things dropping on my fucking head.

>Brain injuries don't hamper you.

Nah, my life was pretty miserable. I'm not going to go into detail. Even a small brain injury is worth a million dollars anyways from a car accident, do you have any idea how much the insurance is making?

Also, user, you should sue your workplace for your accident, that's worth a lot money, I guarantee your brain injury is negatively affecting you in many ways that are subtle and may take years realize.

Technically, you're not wrong. Hitler's Germany was fucking on fire irrespective of the fuckshit that ensued after.

Whether or not the war was a good governmental investment is arguable.

>Mandated by law
Socialism at work. :^)
