Its hard to say for sure because that hairstyle definitely requires a thinner cheek width than what you have. if your face is too round it will also make your head look giant. Not saying don't grow it out but look into other similar styles

For Asian straight hair, this is what I got from the countless chinks/gooks/nips doing that style esp the two pictures on the bottom.
>Blowdry hair while fingering the roots upwards (you're basically blowdrying the roots)
>(*optional) make divisions on your hair using styling clip (if you have bangs you may start to work on that first), you work layer by layer
>use curling iron to do the curls
>wax, but dont smear on the hair. You take ample ampunt, warm it on your hand and scrunch your hair like girls would do when using a curling(?) mousse. You also start to separate some curls that was grouped together by the curling iron using your fingers. You're basically molding the curls properly to where you want it be or look like. (There are some waxes designs to separate curls)

It's a hassle if you look at my post, and it seems intimidating as well, but these chinks got so used to doing it, that they can finish in an hour or less.

I've got an oval face and my semi-long hair is mildly wavy/curly so it approaches afro territory in the wind. 20 minutes after showering the other day it had already sprung back outwards. I've tried tying it back but it sprouts outwards and looks awful. Looks like pic related but without the weight. So, can anyone recommend haircuts?
