I’m Going with the venerable American Optical Aviators. Pop in some prescription react-to-light lenses if you in actuality aren’t a fashion-wear poseur and you have some trendy, versatile specs that compliment everything from a preppy aesthetic to Sleazecore.
Remember Gayban Aviators are for homosexualists. AO for high-T slayers. Know the difference. Rock an A2 flight jacket with cable-knit sweater underneath for bonus points!
thinking about copping some clubmasters and removing the rayban branding
i love the mid century style, but i dont want to be associated with the rayban stigma

It’s pretty unobtrusive on that model desu. Nothing on the arms etc.
Joseph Reed
That is exactly what I'm planning to buy for glasses. I'm in Europe so I don't know where I can find an American Optical reseller. I'm hesitating on ether picking gold or silver frame.
Carter Price
I handcrafted my own pair if someone is interested in seeing em

Clubmasters are effay as fuck but if youre really gonna be this pedantic about branding just buy some reps. They're cheaper too.
Kayden Campbell
There is no egregious branding on RB Clubs. Fleabay will see you cop legits on the cheap. The knock offs are fucking terrible.
Christopher Kelly
eBay Brudda....you can cop vintage 80’s AO variants for sweet fuck all.
Caleb Campbell
Yes post here!

The most effay eyewear will never be avaitors, I know that much.

Thank you for the suggestion, I will give it a look. I was hesitant to buy on ebay as every time I look it's filled with fake
Although this isn’t explicitly an AO fan thread one must consider their masculine profile, quintessentially American heritage and relative cheapness and accessibility re. Retro stock. They are wonderfully versatile too complimenting everything from sleazecore to Terrorwave.

Here’s a pair of 1977 “Sunvogues” I picked up for for fuck all from fleabay as deadstock. Wearing with react-to-lights
I have a pair of those AO original pilots with the heavy glass polarized lenses. Bought them during the height of my "Made in USA" obsession. I found them sliding off my face when I started sweating, so I replaced the arms with the sort that wrap around your ears. Less comfortable, and one of the lenses is cracked in half and held together only by the frame, but I still wear them as beaters when I don't want to endanger my more expensive Persols, pic related
Fine work user, did you shape the lenses yourself or design the frame around a pair of shaped lenses you liked? I have enough jewelry-making background to make a decent pair of wireframes, but my major holdup is the lenses.
