DISCLAIMER- This site only counts the top wallets, not the top holders, and most people have multiple wallets, but since they can account for 7,250,077 BTC out of ~15.2 million, this is the best data I expect to find. That being said, this is what I could extrapolate from the data.
>Owning 0.3 BTC will easily put you in top million (not that that's impressive, there's only 3,514,071 wallets that have more than 0.001 BTC). Owning 17.4 will put you in the top 100,000 wallets.
>The median wallet has 0.03 BTC each, while the average wallet has just over 2 BTC each.
>Owning 1.6 BTC will easily put you in the top 10% of wallets, and owning 50 will put you in the top 1%
>For those of you with big dreams, the top 0.1% is 495 BTC and over, the top 0.01% 3051 BTC and over, and to get into the top 100 wallets you just have to crack 10,000 BTC.

If I hadn't seen it repeated elsewhere I wouldn't have tried to figure it out. And regardless of the shitposting, at least now we have a very vague idea of where you'll rank if/when bitcoin becomes a world currency. Obviously it'll shift a lot as the mainstream adopts it, but still.
Jonathan Murphy
In theory only 1 million people can own 21 btc each but in reality the btc won't even spread out like that ,I don't gag what point you are trying to prove you're just saying that owning 21btc puts you in an even more exclusive club
Levi Clark
Sorry autocorrect has gone silly
Colton Perez
Thanks bro. Off to get 10,001
Connor Reyes
That was exactly my point, that the distribution wouldn't be even (obviously). I just wanted a closer estimate to what the distribution actually looked like.
Jack Morris
>113kk in memecoin
can he even cash it all?
Charles Wright
My goal is 140, enough to put me in the top 10,000. Also the highest realistic goal to work towards for me.
Lincoln Morgan
>113 million in btc Is there even a market for that amount
Joshua Long
Yes, in 100 years maybe.
Easton James
It's probably an exchange wallet or something.
Noah Cruz
correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like the 1% have more than the 99% combined.
Wyatt Powell
economics, man
Parker Perry
Only going off of this chart, the top 100 wallets (less than 0.00003% of all wallets on the site) hold 40.56% of the bitcoins counted on the site, and ~19% of all bitcoins
Wyatt Gonzalez
Just a reminder that Bitcoin wallets are like social security numbers, nobody has more than one and no address controls multiple peoples' funds, which makes the data presented very meaningful
Dominic Barnes

You're not good with sarcasm, are you?
Ryan Murphy
No, I can't detect sarcasm and I didn't address his exact point in the first post.
Chase Lewis
Calm down, man.
Nice stats calc and data source find tho.
Colton Ross
Now if you'll excuse me it's time for more autism because I found a better website.
If we take the US as an example in wealth distribution, it's total household net worth (as of 2009) being $54.2 trillion, and its richest citizen's net worth (Bill Gates) at $76.6 billion, Bill Gates would have 0.1413% of the US's net worth. However, if we looked at btc distribution comparatively, he would only be the 53rd richest person. The richest person would be 6.5x wealthier than him, which if we went with the comparison would be worth just shy of $500 billion
Liam Morris
Thanks, it's easy math honestly, and I probably fucked up with some of it
Joseph Morgan
Thanks for posting. I knew that cuck was wrong
Kevin Myers
Noone seems to have over 1 mil coins. Which is kind of interesting.
Going with your comparison, are you saying that becoming top1% is as easy as owning a few bitcoins?
Charles Gutierrez
well, according to the first site, 50 btc. Which might be a few to you, but definitely isn't for me
Evan Jackson
Satoshi nakamoto is said to have approximately 1 million coins but nobody knows if he is even alive anymore, and it seems he only mined those coins to keep the network online
Parker Ortiz
It's not easy, but we get to see guys with that much all the time, on exchanges, p2p lending sites and casinos. So it's easier to bump into the "bitcoin 1%" than it is to bump into an USD millionaire.
Nicholas Lopez
well yeah 40k is 2 orders of magnitude lower than 1M
Tyler Cooper
Bumping the only worthwhile thread on biz
Feels good owning 212 btc, but by now I'm sure gook moot has sold my IP address to various scum.
Come and get my bitcoins cocksuckers, be warned I have plenty of weapons
John Stewart
Bitcoin price is gonna get extra nutty after this July halving
You think the price going from $300 to $800 was big, just lol, just wait
Pity you fools without btc
Jacob Long
There is literally no reason for this to happen.
Landon Thompson

Luke Brown
You cucks have just watched the price of bitcoin go from $300 to $800 in a couple months
After the halving, yeah, nah, I was considering posting the suicide hotline # for you retarded nocoiners, but I'll just let you become an hero on your own
Tbh with the recent rise I'm surprised you haven't already off'd yourselves
Isaac Hernandez
Can't wait for you to gamble away your money after some trading site starts lagging or shit like that. Also, i doubt your monetary gains are that impressive
Evan Diaz
Thanks dude, this is actually my first thread here. There seems to be a lot of memeing about altcoins here but nobody really knows where this technology is going so fuck it. Even if it goes up by a couple hundred that's huge. I had ~3.5 btc that I sold for nefarious business enterprises. Still made a solid $650 profit from the price increase though. Gonna try and scrape up as much cash as possible and see if the price goes down to $500. Might get nervous and settle for as close to $600 as the market goes though.
