The 80's blue flag was perfect. Yes the F-15 is still a better aircraft overall, but at least it was more balanced that way.

It was actually fun knowing that the F-15's couldn't just launch 8 spamrams at you from 50 miles away and just book it home.

What are good 'study' sims for someone to get into? I have DCS World with several modules, as well as Microsoft Flight simulator, I just haven't gotten around to playing either very much yet.

Falcon BMS is very detailed, but being 20 years old make it very lacking in to tutorial/UI/training missions department when compared to DCS or FSX. So it isn't exactly beginner friendly.

My life got very busy and I didn't have time to make DCS autism missions any longer, I could go back and make some now but I'm currently in maximum shill mode for BoS.

BMS itself isn't that old and just check the BMS section in pastebin in OP for tutorials. Besides, sticking to 1 sim isn't going to happen. The free Su-25T will give plenty access to DCS, probably including the training. Here are the must have starter pack for free:
