Hmm... I'd argue that you really need a damage threshhold.

E.g., .38 won't go through power armor, but .50 will. Or hell, just a way to give armor piercing mods an actual benefit.

I think part of it has to do with the fact that the bodyslide preview has no head / hair so butts and tits can look smaller until you actually see them in game.

Assaultron legs are a little thin for it but it makes it move fast and also not get stuck on shit.

It depends. I've started playing Fallout with BoS, and then got to F1 and F2, so the Brotherhood went from "Awesome" to "Slightly less, but always Awesome" to "Heck, we got mauled by the Enclave" to the "Failed to keep up with the changing times" that give them a definite air of tragedy. As New Vegas skillfully points out, they have been surpassed by the events and they failed to adapt, a thing that the Midwest Brotherhood was instead shown to do very well.

I don't even consider Bethesda's BoS versions worthy of comment, as Bethesda can't write the instruction manuals of a hair dryer.

Most of the time, for us older Fallout players, yeh, the Brotherhood was that bunch of assholish knights in power armour that you always wanted to join.

That how modern bethesda game work :
Game released->discussion for two month->waifus->dlc released->dlc discussion->waifus and porn mods->last dlc released->dlc discussion->waifus and porn mods until new game.

For waifufags and other degenerates that tend to show up in these threads, Fallout is nothing but a tool. They don't like and "play" the franchise for it's own worth, but because it provides a place where they can practice self-delusion. Even worse, most of them don't even have a trip.

I phrased my opening question poorly. I totally get why people like the Brotherhood, they're awesome, secretive techno-knights in a mostly grounded setting. They're a little bit of 40K cheekily slipped into Fallout. What I mean is "Does anyone sympathize with the Brotherhood?". The only time I can really think that their bullshit wasn't transparent was Fallout 1 where everyone got a free pass due to the apocalypse being relatively recent so everyone was doing dark shit and it being possible to convert them to doing something productive. By New Vegas, even the Khans are more civilized than them. Fuck them, Veronica never makes a convincing argument for them continuing to exist, all she has is "muh noble origins."

Then again, ultimately, it serves a good purpose if you buy the idea that New Vegas was written in a way it could serve to end the series. The die is cast, the major players have entered the stage, the savages are well on their way to being purged or converted, and there's only a few like the Khans left that still haven't decided which they want to be. Civilization is in full swing again and the final DLC is about either accepting that or being the guy who pushes the button to start over again. The Brotherhood, as the face of the series and as a faction in their universe, are obsolete and the setting really can't fit them anymore because the setting is no longer post-apocalyptic.

What is the point you are trying to make here other than people playing differently than you and needing a good cry at this realization.
