i thought the stock hud was kinda hard to see when i played on a big monitor so i got a custom hud with the numbers right in my f*cking face

i started playing on a smaller monitor (it has less input lag and a slightly higher refresh rate) and i dont need the custom hud anymore

the only annoying thing about stock HUD is the microscopic damage dealt numbers

i actually use tf2hudplus

still doesnt change that the numbers are very thin and hard to read when you're doing many things at once

cant you just approximate them from the target's maximum health and how full the cross is
why do you need to know the exact number anyway

try not doing too many things at once

to see if i buffed someone to a full buff or not
to see who needs heals first
to see who most likely has crit heals

micromanaging everything is kind of what medic does, though. he's not killing so he has to concentrate on other shit like keeping everyone alive and keep an eye out for spies or scouts trying to flank.
