The screen init versions make your backlight go on for like half a second while CFWstuff's happening, the ones without screen init can make your 3DS look unhacked (and CFW/boot managers can do screen init when it's necessary anyway, so you don't really lose anything). There's no real time difference, maybe milliseconds at most, you'd pretty much need to get a high-framerate camera to even be capable of capturing the difference.

There's also a screen init version set to 0 backlight now as well from what I've read.

Yeah, I can boot into sysNAND. I'm not sure why my emuNAND died because last I remember it was working fine.

Well, since you don't have backups you'll have to create another emuNAND with EmuNand9 from Homebrew menu. And probably delete the bricked one. Just don't forget to backup files on your SD card.

yes you can follow the wiki guide that is in the OP and start from part 4 as it says though you might wanna read over the other parts to understand it better

Correct, you can use a9lh to start decrypt9 before the sysNand starts. This means even if the sysNand is bricked, you can just restore a backup.
