You can, but it's not cheap. $109 (includes tax) will get you 400 gold even if gold is going for 20 ncoin each (which is lower than it's ever been).
400 gold is not even sufficient just to go from true pirate to true breeze on your weapon. (If you farm the naryu tablets yourself, it's barely sufficient.)
In order to upgrade your accessories and weapon as far as this guy has, you're talking thousands of dollars. Not a thousand, but thousands, plural.

There are two ways to get the buff that prevents you from getting frozen.
One way is to stand directly underneath him, he'll poop out some red fire on the ground underneath his feet, if you stand there you'll get the buff.
The second way is to go to where the person who was thrown lands. That spot will also have a glowing red patch that gives the buff. There are two difficulties here: (1) it's not for very long, so you need to be heading in the right direction as the person is being thrown, you can't wait to see where they land; and (2) the Yeti will jump and land on that exact spot, so you need to either get there very fast and run out, or else SS out once you get the buff.
The Yeti will always throw the person a fixed distance directly in the direction he's facing, so once you know what to look for, you can usually tell where he's going to land before he even throws him.
