Yeah but it still took a lot of the enjoyment out of it and it's been so long since I played it that I totally forgot everything about where I was and what I was doing and lost interest in it. I still really want to finish it but don't know if I will ever feel like playing it again.

It sucks cause it's one of the few games I really like and I could see it being one of my favorites if I got to experience it properly but now that experience is gone forever.

No Persona game should be grindy. If you're grinding a lot, you're doing it wrong.

With that said, if you're talking about pure floor exploration, every stage of the TV world is larger than the standard Tartarus floor, but there's only ever about 10 floors per dungeon, give or take a few floors.

Did people ever use that for any reason other than "I'm overleveled and just want to reach the next floor, so go find it for me?"

I never got that. Even at good levels companions did worse on their own and took forever to complete battles when you could end it in 1-2 moves.
