How's the latest DLC?

ToME is a roguelike as far as I know.

Not as unforgiving at least on Normal but still.

Imbalanced, but fun according to /rlg/. Skeleton Gunslingers are even better than Skeleton Archers, those sawblade dudes are fun, and Minotaurs can get 100+ damage reduction on everything.

Standard fare.
If you like ToME4, you will like the DLC.
If you have taste then you won't like either.

bad idea. blink frogs are easy to stair dance because they wont surround you since they're blinking around.

with your defenses wolves wont do much. I'm skeptical about that great mace tho. a decent flail (maybe in Orc:1) should do more dps at low skill

New character in CDDA. Started in a LMOE. Swamp to the immediate south, 2 minefields to the immediate west. My co-survivor spawned with a simple flamethrower, and promptly started a raging forest fire. To add insult to injury, I chose a profession that doesn't start with a means to create fire. When I asked for some gear to try to complete her bullshit quest, what does she give me? A lighter, like 90% of my other starts? No. My firebug friend gave me a plastic bottle instead. So I'm either going to have to brave the nearby suburb or grind survivor up to 2 real quick and make a fire drill.

ID your wands and pots, quaff the benmut, use that wand of hasting and recharge it when necessary and you should be fine.
If the bless weapon thing isn't in your (a)bilities then I think you need the altar for it.

I use a USB stick to synch my save-files between my work laptop and home desktop. Doubles as a backup if I get a corrupted file or I manage to brick a computer, somehow. If you have internet Dropbox could be a quality solution, too.

I tried that with DynaHack but the saves are exclusive to each PC

Is any EV better than close to none? Would it be worth going from 10 EV to 4 EV for example if it was only for a couple of AC?

Well apparently some roguelike folks I know are working on pic related. Not sure how serious or troll a project it is, but I'm imagining great things.

It's a chance to avoid a hit completely vs reducing the damage you take

You want EV to prevent getting beat up by something like a ettin, you want AC for things like hydras or killer bees

Any EV is always useful, there are some foos with terrible accuracy and you're always under a lot of attacks. Layered defenses is where it is at, 20AC 20EV is better than 40AC/EV. If you aren't getting a lot of value for going to really low numbers I wouldn't.

I've ascended a melee dude now it's time for a caster dude anons. I've tried many types of casters and they always splat to some ranged fuckery or random unique abilities that disable escapes.

Trying SpAE. Spriggans aptitude for stealth and speed to make initiating fights much easier even vs ranged opponents. Air Elementalist since it's the least shitty aptitude for destructive magics then go into transmutations for lich form, maybe translocations for some blink/dispersal.

Do I care about raising dex at all? What about dodge, ev, sh? I usually get to mid-game and splat right as my I'm getting higher level magic up, but before I can invest much into defenses.

What's the crawl version that people recommend? Since apparently the recent versions have gone to shit
