I mean, if you're hungry, would you rather pay for food, or shoot yourelf in the head and be revived using your dead body and materials from the surroundings?
Running for long periods of time would mean the ghost would be removing lactic acid from your system to keep you going.
If you go a long time without dying, the ghost might keep removing free radicals from your system, or if it cant do that, introduce antioxidants to prevent long term genetic damage, because they ARE expecting you to live for a very long ass time here, they'd probably be constantly extending your telomeres, or alter your dna to where your telomeres are replenished by your body somehow, fuck if i know, but jellyfish and lobsters do it.
I gotta wonder if the nerves might be beefed up if they're to conduit for Light based abilities.
