Alliance doesn't have a proper guild, it is literally 1 guy and a few of his brothers. You won't even raid 10 man on alliance.
raid two will always take you since we usually clear it with 20-22 people. Getting a spot in raid one will be tough once ulduar comes out.

Excalibur is a p2w funserver, and you'll see people running around with dual glaives and shit, which basically makes battlegrounds a crock of shit, but it probably wouldn't be that big of a deal if your guild has rules against gear purchases.
Vengeance is less funserver, but has some pretty major bugs. Kara does have some script errors, and it is the only raid currently out. Gruul and Mag are supposed to come out end of May, but you know how servers are about release dates. BF has some mob errors, and the hydra in UB is set to heroic damage. One thing about it though is that the admins are usually on their IRC, and can resolve issues relatively quick if you tell them. Also Vengeance gives you a boost to 58 so you don't have to suffer through empty vanilla content just to get to the part you care about.
