Rescue the dudes at Concord, turn Sanctuary into a small settlement, do some stuff west of those places if you really have to. The entire northern part of the map should be pretty easy, unless you run into a deathclaw or smth. The original name of the vehicle was Ocelot. It was developed by a private company (who also gave it that name) Since Ocelot is not a dog (like you said), the MoD decided to rename it to Foxhound to fit the naming scheme. So it really only has one name, the ones that are used by the British Army (or rather, that specific variant) are called Foxhound while the others are named Ocelot.
