I wish they wouldn't, we really need more games with strong scenes. SF is what I like but I appreciate we need a breadth of games but they need more than 100 people on steam playing them at the best of times

It has awful unfinished spots all over the place. And hardware isn't really the excuse since having a more or less static image in the background barely stresses the hardware. China and Grid both look consistent and don't create this horrible contrast between characters and background. I think that's the greatest fault of these stages. The contrast it creates between two layers. China stage can be bad with that too with its abundant NPCs.

I still think the China stage is uglier. It gets a little better when you open up the restaurant though, because of the lighting there.

I fell asleep during the finals and woke up to the crowd shoryuken or whatever it was. I found the semifinals and such really interesting, but some characters such as Nash or Chun just make the game boring as fuck to watch. At least old Chun had the P2 glitch.

I see what you mean with the textures, but look at pic related. There are 2 super obvious blurry textures right in the middle, and it looks bad during gameplay, plus the NPCs. The forgotten waterfall stage looks good enough that you don't notice the poor textures as much IMO. So I still think China stage is worse.

I've realized that it just depends on who is playing. Any fight with a top player will always be interesting to me. Any fight with even some e-celeb will be interesting to me (LTG vs Smug, Art vs Kazunoko). I either tune in to see someone embarrassingly get blown the fuck out or to see some great playing. Watching anyone else is kind of boring

For me SFV is boring to watch mostly because there's not a lot of characters right now and you end up seeing the same thing all the time. On top of that barely anyone plays Gief, Fang, or Alex. Also no one has really started playing Guile yet since he's not allowed in tournaments until next week.

I see what you mean. Regardless, it's hard to ignore how much better the character models look, making the contrast. I think Capcom outsourced the backgrounds to some shitty Asian studio while they did the models themselves. That's why there is a disparity. Hopefully Capcom learns from the lesson and instead does it in-house or atleast in-Japan.

Or Laura, Birdie and Rashid. Either that or I have bad luck when watching tournaments to always miss matches with these. So it's 6 out of 17 allowed in tournaments that get poor or no representation. And lately we are getting a lot of Nash, Necalli, Ken and Ryu getting top spots in tournaments so seeing these all the time gets boring.
