ps the next pvp season is going to be frustrating as all hell if mesmers ship in their current state. pubbies can't deal with mesmers and moa/portal can deny you even when you do know what you're doing

i don't want to play mesmer/revenant but it's not like my old warrior/engineer/necromancer fallbacks are cutting edge against them. best you can do on war is lb + mace/shield them with a balanced CI build or run a full power RR build and pray zerk stance is enough to down them ASAP

You get upscaled instead. As for traits/skills, WvW is a path to those by ranking up. The level-up books are getting more common, as they are used for guild upgrades, and with the reward tracks handing them out every so often, Anet may think XP through WvW is not necessary. Or maybe they can't really fix the level-up AoE knock-back.
