So making a Dex/Fai character and only going to use supplemental spells, buffs and what not. I only need 30 Fai to cast all the spells I want, is going higher necessary? Like would having 30 Fai and not 40 cause DMB/LB to give less of a dmg buff?

Yeah it does seem to vary a lot with build, I had a hell of a fucking time with princes but champion and suhlyvan were first tries, I haven't even died to champion yet and I've sent like 5 different characters through him for the chain/hornet ring.

Not sure maybe the sacred flame counts as a riposte of some kind. And that is why it takes your weapon damage.

I think it might do so too with the normal pyromancy flame.

Sacred Flame is literally the only new pyromancy they added in DSIII, so it makes sense it'd be the only one they'd manage to fuck up.

This is totally wrong, they both scale heavily with spell buff; higher faith and a more efficiently scaling catalyst will both severely boost your buff's damage.

Buffs like Deep Protection don't scale with Spell Buff at all, right?

Found that either doing Watchdog/Aldrich is a lot more fun than trying to invade as a Finger. Red Eye invasions just send you to some gank squad more often than not

This is correct, anything that's just a % increase (Deep protection, sacred oath, blessed weapon, etc) ignore your spell buff and faith stat for it's boost.

So if you're planning on just using buffs as a cleric, go with the witchtree vine since it can cast nearly twice as fast as any other catalyst.

Depends which weapon, if you're mostly in it for the weapon buff blessed weapon is the best one in this game that I've seen and you can use it with much less faith.

Going deep into faith is a mistake unless you're using a faith scaling weapon. This is what I put together for a lv100 high faith build. It could be taken to 120 by getting FAI to 60 for max miracle scaling, but SS is just filler and WOG is there for zoning purposes.

When I rush Dancer, Oceiros and Champion Gundyr before Vordt, Oceiros is the easiest by a mile.
One slightly annoying move does not make him anything more than a joke, difficulty wise.

BKG is fucking awesome with the stunlock combo.

i haven't actually tested very many out, but at 60 faith, Yorshka's Chime is extremely good, if not the best, and the Saint's Talisman is just a touch worse, but has the weaker version of the poise buff weapon art which is useful with offensive miracles if uh, you're into that kind of thing.

For lower faith there might be a better choice, (A talisman with high base spell buff, but lower scaling or something) but either of those catalysts will probably work pretty well.

Depends on weapon, he can be a miserable fight if you're using slow weapons since he wiggles around a lot and a miss matters much more for heavy weapons.

Pretty much every bossfight in this game is way, way easier using fast spammy weapons. The speedrun build is 40 luck + Anri SS with bleed resin.

Gundyr's is prettier, but unless you do NG+ you miss out on the prisoner's chain

I didn't have trouble with him but you can't just roll & stab him in the back repeatedly

I had 6 estus left when I beat him on my second try, and at at that point I only had 11.
He just killed me on my first try because his fart killed me for some reason when he transformed

I find it highly unlikely I could have a problem with him even if I do him right now on NG++

Aldrich is an easy fight, maybe the "it's ok to die" tier. And replace Ancient Wyvern with giant Snakeman with chain, since he's basically the boss in that fight.
