USN CLs kill USN DDs
USN DDs kill IJN DDs
RU DDs kill Destroyers and ambush BBs. Stay away from any CA
KM CLs kill any other cruiser with glorious pen. Avoid BBs cause light armor
RU CAs burn things. Take on BBs with support, DDs at range, and pen CAs. Weakness is that they are so huge.
USN CVs specialize more. A fighter USN CV can dog pile IJN CV fighters. A USN strike CV can control maps with their TBs
IJN CVs hold a more general play style. Their fighters can 1v1 Ami fighters but with less planes in a squad, you can lose squads to AAA much easier and have less of a chance to hit targets on torp runs
Of course there's outliers and basic game sense. But in a 1v1 fight, that's how most things will go.
Plus it's suppose to be a general idea of their ships intended role

Well at T5, literally almost every other ship is better than the Kirov, T6, the Fusou is better than the NM, at T7 there are much better choices, Amagi is pretty gud, Iowa is a goddess at t9, and Zao is good but I'd prefer a comfy Hotel

Excellent turret layout, excellent guns, excellent range, good dispersion, cruiser tier armor (just like any other cruiser :^)), feeds on New Yorks, feeds on Furry tacos.

To be quite honest, it was a really difficult conclusion to come to. They're both excellent ships but in the end, I felt The Fuso's faster speed and the number of turrets it has was what won me over.
I'm not as fucked if I lose a turret and I'm able to get in and start shitting out shells earlier too. The seaburger's great too, but I felt Fuso was jussst slightly better overall.

Get within 5 - 6 km, aim below the superstructure in front of the rear turrets or right below the smokestack. And yes, you obviously have to hit the broadside, it won't work if the target is angled.
Exception to this rule is Kirov, where you can pen the magazines from pretty much any direction as long as you hit the waterline below the turrets, and Nurnberg, where you can destroy the engines from pretty much anywhere as long as you hit the waterline below the aft superstructure.
The closer you get, the more citpens you will get. USN DDs have to get really close because the US guns have lolrainbow ballistics, the DDs with flatter arcs are obviousy better at this.
Do note that you generally shotgun enemies with torps at those ranges, and that you can detonate Kbergs with HE by shooting right in front of the rear turrets.
It's just something to keep in mind if an enemy crusiers gives you a broadside at 5 km.

If you want, just keep spamming HE at everything. It works just as well thanks to the retardedly high fire damage. it breaks the engines on Kberg and Nberg just fine and can even detonate Kberg.
