With 8 invites people would complain about one or another team not being invited. Hell, there were complains even with 12 invites about Newbee not being invited.

The only solution is to simply invite the top 8 teams of the last Major and if a team has 3+ players changed drop his invite and add +1 slot to that region qualifier.
