I would say it is, yes. You get small amounts of exp from the 100+ level 50 MSQ quests. Assuming you're watching cutscenes or not rushing/space it out, you can do your roulettes and daily stuff and get a few levels before you even hit Heavensward content. Being ahead in level isn't necessarily a bad thing as you can skip a lot of the "breaks" between the MSQ that happens quite a bit and just keep going.

Other than that, the only other thing is if you want to play Au ra.

Especially with paying for subs they aren't really gonna pay attention, you can buy gil unfrequently, in small numbers, quite easily without getting caught

some people enjoy it, some people like the sense of achievement. some of the more hardcore players raid long hours because they plan on getting the raid done eventually, so they might as well do it asap so working doesn't leave them too drained to play, and so they can get it over with and get back to obligations sooner.

If you have an enjoyable group the time you spend raiding flies by, and there's no real hair-pulling as long as you're making progress
