Where does the DLC fit into the storyline of the game?

I know that the Beach Brawl/Royal Royale etc. shit obviously happens after the end of the Revelation story, Heirs of Fate is in an alternate dimension, but what about the grinding DLCs, Before Awakening, rescuing Anna, and all that? At what point in the story is it reasonably canon to play them?

I shitpost about my waifu for fun sometimes and I think I may have genuinely upset some of my fellow waifufriends on at least one occasion.

The only finished playthrough I have of Fates was on Normal difficulty on Conquest, using visit/battle items.

I like to pretend that I know a lot about Fire Emblem, but the only one I've played besides Fates was Shadow Dragon. And I wasn't even able to beat Shadow Dragon on Normal without using Action Replay to give my units infinite HP (in fairness, I was like 11 years old at the time).
