Thanks a lot for the help!
I figured there wouldn't be much in the way of options, but I was wondering if there was one or two games that were easily the cream of the crop. And it's useful to know what to avoid. I like both SoL and fantasy, and I'm not sure about my preference for romance or story yet.

If you don't mind a stat raiser, Tokimeki is good.

I don't mean old as in he's literally an old man. He just sounds like one.

I also hate his voice for the Pop n' Star trap. The other guy they added doesn't sound much better either.

Play Code Realize.

It often comes down to preferences, so there's not really a game that's considered as best.
Code:Realize has more focus on the plot than on the romance, but it has a very good story and is quite popular in here. But it's Vita only, so you'll have to buy it.
Norn9 has more focus on romance, with 3 voiced MCs to choose from, and many boys to romance. But the story is lacking and again, Vita only.
DotKareshi is a very short, fun game about being stuck in your own game. It's too short to really get invested with the characters, but it's still funny and entertaining.

Avoid Ozmafia.

Almost every Otome game is either SoL or Fantasy.

But not all of them are of good quality AND translated.

If you're alright with length and the nekomimi premise, Lamento is a very good BL game. Dramatical Murder is a hot mess, but can be entertaining if you're into trainwrecks.

For Otome there's Hatoful Boyfriend and Dotkareshi for quick otome games.
If you want to try BL then go with No, Thank You!!! and Lamento, or DMMd if you want a clusterfuck.

Or you could go with Hadaka Shitsuji.

Design wise, they're great, But his characters aren't attractive.

The guys are way too overstyled, like they look like fashion mannequins and not characters. Also noodlepeople.
I liked his designs for the Kagerou/Deception series though.

I wonder why Sachiko has had so few roles. I love her voice and wish she would also do otome.

True, her voice is great. It's a waste she pretty much never had any no other rolls, male or female.
At least she got to sing Valentine Kiss this year.

Yukimura's nice and all, but Sanada and Fuji otouto have the best routes in the school festival game. Delicious spaghetti.

Do you guys listen to at least one person's Valentines Kiss every year? Atobe's not my favorite character, but he definitely has my favorite version of the song.

Doki Doki Survival has harem routes for all schools. Remember to play them, they're pretty funny. You might want to use a guide, tho. They can be a little tricky to unlock.

Is there any apparent reason why she has done so little work? Her voice gets me happy like Saiga, but then again, I do have a weak spot for such roles. I listen to her CDs at least once every month or so.

All of the otome ones are pretty similar. They're pretty short with quite a bit of copy&past going on, but got some genuinely nice moments.

But if I had to choose, I'd say Doki Doki Survival. It has harem routes for all schools and two or three P3 ends, there's a feature that lets you poke the guys similar to TMGS, and the MC with the beach team might be dumb as a rock, but she's got more spunk than your usual MC.

No, only Motto Gakuensai and Girls be Gracious are patched afaik.

I can't decide whether I should save Totomaru for the last or go for his route right away.

First review I looked at was someone complaining about Kikumaru using "anta" when talking to the MC.
Now I wonder how many of these bad reviews are actually warranted and how many are just pure autism. Guess I'll read them later.

Nagai is mostly a stage actress. I think she only started voice acting because one of the PoT casting directors saw her on stage and asked her to consider it.

Characters being too ooc can really spoil a route though.
