In previous games, they always summon the Persona when casting no matter what, and only showing the eyes if doing a critical animation.

Now, the Persona shows up behind you in the menu when you're about to let it attack. But the webm suggests that it might go back to the old style for critical hits and weaknesses... So let's say it's the Phantom getting ready to attack. Arsene would show up behind him in the menu, and then if he gets a crit, would Arsene just disappear so Phantom can resummon him for the sake of the critical/weakness animation? Otherwise, if it didn't crit or hit a weakness, Arsene would just attack immediately since he's already been summoned behind Phantom.

Evidence by PV04, the Persona is already summoned when you're in the menu. But let's have two animations. One is the basic attacking/casting animation, and then the other is the critical/weakness animation. You could have the user and the Persona both do a pose before striking, then you see the cut in of the user's eyes, and then the Persona goes to town.
