I stopped playing SWTOR early 2012 (shortly after Explosive Conflict was released)

Is the game fundamentally different? In what ways? Is the free to play still cancer?

Yes. Easier soloing, tons more solo content, a couple of new Operations. Yes.

It's still Singleplayer: The MMO.

They've realized most people play it for single player story so the new expac is focused on that instead of new Ops and such. It's even to the point where the actual group content can be soloed easily.

The non-end game has been significantly dumbed down, however ops have, if anything, gotten harder. More ops these days but they are rarely added.

Expansions are getting more and more cancer these days, we are going from the original per class story, to per-faction, and now with kotfe, finally a single story.

Lots and lots of cartel market crap out. You can unlock and duplicate bound versions to your character with ccs now.

Endgame crafting is better.

Economy has seen some inflation, rare armor sets are 30mil+ now, hiring a guild for a run is around 50mil to 175mil depending on the ops these days.

Strongholds, AKA player housing. Cancerous cartel market cash grab

Dyes, slightly less cancerous cash grab. Some are crafted.

Also a fuckton more companions with the new expansion.

Is the PvP scene better? There was some buzz about ranked battlegrounds at the time. They were shit when released, but the system seemed promising. I kind of liked the PvP generally, at least the concepts behind it

You can get some ok dyes with crafting. Can't really do it with stronghold decorations.

Yavin used to be better before F2Ps could get there.

Also consider xoxaan's sash. The lower robes look like Visa Marr, which is a bit annoying with that gap. Try Kreia's robes instead?

I love strongholds, I just love housing in general. I just hate their hook system and the retarded recent decorations hooks being wrong. Like the Zakuul weapon racks being Large floor hook only or how most of the commemorative statues could have easily been medium hook.
