I build for the following criteria

>max cdr or 30%+ with good passives
>2500+ hp
>protection against the main damage type after reduction from enemy team still fluctuates in the hundreds range.
>Enough pen to do true/near true damage to squishies optionally with magic pen stripping but honestly mage pen is so good that it burst sufficiently but anything to boost team damage form ages and guardians help.

As long as I fit those criteria my Xing will do well and I extend this to other gods with diverse itemisation like solo gods.
