Finally got around getting a dual smg loadout for proxy. Honestly, as long as you are careful, block entryways with mines, hit and run, escort heavier mercs and fall behind them, you're good to go.

The moment you start rushing in thinking you're sanic you're screwed and revert back to being a shit. For a merc designed to aggressively rush objectives, she's pretty much a peashooter in head on combat and pushing objectives.

Got into this game recently and loving it. Closing in on my first 50k and I'm a little confused over who to buy. Phantom seems like the type of character to suck in-game since I assume his active camo either dissipates when I move or is really visible anyway, Redeye seems dope but I worry his DMR can't match up to Aimee or Vassili's snipers. And I worry Phoenix's healing pulse will have shit practical application. I love Fletcher but he's free right now so I'm not buying him.

Tl;dr, Redeye and Phoenix look awesome but are they good. If not, who is generally considered great in their role?

R22 is hot garbage
Double time is annoyingly bad and virtually eliminates reload canceling, flying pig is flying poop, and looter isn't actually very good.

All of this on top of the fact that the remburg is the worst shotgun in the game means that there are no good loadouts starting with R besides R93 and that's only because you'll never be using the thing.

I rarely ever take fall damage because you can jump off another wall just before hitting the ground.
Even if you like it there's no reason to pick a loadout with the worst primary and one decent perk.

It's useful on hit and run mercs like proxy, but not so much because reload canceling make reload actually faster. With double time you need to aim to cancel

If youre interested in the 'top tier' mercs (for whatever the fuck thats worth,) Sawbonez is the primo medic for his big health packs, Fragger/Nader seem almost necessary, and an ammo slut is always needed. Skyhammer is probably the best, but Kira is a close second depending on your playstyle and Stoker can be decent too though his molotov isn't as strong.

Other than that, it's really up to playstyle. Find a merc with a playstyle/weapons and loadouts that you truly enjoy and play the fuck out of them. The loadout cards are something to look at before buying a merc - some of them are straight ass.

Daily reminder that this game is, in fact, better than Overwatch unless you really are a filthy casual. I may even buy OW and play it a little, but I'll always come back to this game because the mechanics and teamwork are tighter than Proxy's ass.

If they're 2nd gen cards they'll actually be good stuff, they are aware of some cards/perks being shit and that is why mercs since Phoenix have mostly had a large number of viable loadouts.
