What did she not do of value? As far as I'm concerned she was literally the tutorial, and story-wise was the first person to welcome Frisk and help him in a place that was trying to kill him simply because he was human. Instead of falling to the same prejudices as all the other monsters, she looked past his appearance and greeted him in the most neighborly way possible and offered assistance.
And she's flawed, too. She actually tries to hurt you in order to prevent you from going further, knowing full well that having you live there until the end of your days would be pretty dull.
