I really don't know why more people haven't gotten either of these, and spend hard-earned cash on trainers, instead. These guys have easy-to-learn, hard-to-master flight characteristics, simple engine startups, simple weapons, and the F-86 in particular has rudimentary radar-guided weapons and early-model Sidewinders to play with. Coincidentally, the F-86 is very good at teaching you the concept of compressor stalls every time you fly through your own missile's trail
Colton Lee
They're gay and the trainers beat them.
Camden Thomas
FSX taught me how to use VORs better than ground school did.
Also, I've only ever flown by GPS, as the chopper I fly doesn't have an OBS in it.
The UI for the GPS is very similar to how a VOR works, though
Nolan Turner
Is it actually a bad idea to pop countermeasures when you have an amraam at your 9 or 3 o'clock? It feels almost like it's drawing them in, rather than keeping them out.
Christopher Johnson
Of course, I say that while posting an image where I have the OBS inactive
Easton Hughes
That's actually the ideal time. But I would err on the side of caution and attempt to kinematically defeat the missile anyway.

Speaking about Veeky Forums. They arent welcome in any shared general.
Samuel Morales
what's wrong with it? I mean the sim military part not the zombie survival modshit
Nicholas James
Because it is like you're rewriting history/ alternate universe; like, if they were like me they wouldn't have/ would have.... Or maybe it's refreshing, because the bad guys usually don't get nearly as much film time when compared to their good guys counterparts.
I thought they had their own general?

Questions for anybody who hosts BMS
I've been hosting the last couple of days, and there seems to be 2 problems.
1: AWACS says different things to different people. One person will request picture, I'd hear clean, he'd get vectors. My guess is this is because we have "calls use bulls-eye" not checked?
2: As the host, the other players say my gear stays down all flight, and my lights stay on. I see them as up and off, but the other players say they are down.
If you know anything that could be causing this please hit me up.
I am using the DMZ shit instead of full port forwarding, but I don't think that'd cause it.

the community is the issue

How much bandwidth are you using?

So, like that other game, that's called BMS?
Alexander Anderson
Explain????
Not sure what I have it set to. Whats a good number?

>june 2015 newsletter >2015 >MiG-29 updated external model and PFM is announced.
Christ ED. A full fucking year to fix a FC3 aircraft.
More and more people are starting to realize how much better the Fulcrum is than the Flanker in DCS.
No shit ER's, R77's,god tier thrust to weight ratio, no exploding on turns, fastest jet in the game, built in ECM, etc.
Just fix my cockpit (counter measure and ECM indicators) and give me my PFM and external model and I'll be happy.
I can only imagine how much better the MiG-29 will be with the PFM. Its gonna be insane.
>I can only imagine how much better the MiG-29 will be with the PFM. Its gonna be insane. What's it going to have that's going to justify the extra trimming effort?
Jordan Taylor
I want to replay sims 3 for fun, but I can't find any good torrents with complete versions; can someone help me out here? Most of the torrents are old, have 0 seeders or don't have all the DLC.

BMS ops WHEN
Josiah Watson
It'd be all right if I had it on my stick, but it's annoying as fuck to fiddle with the keyboard every five seconds. They should at least do it like they did with the su-27 and let you trim with your joystick itself while holding down a button.
Julian Adams
Ever heard of modifiers and hat switches?
Evan Kelly
I don't have any switches on my stick.
Gavin Flores
What respectable joystick doesn't have a hat switch?

It's a fucking outstanding 5 star joystick, you bellend.
/simg/ has zero taste, as expected. This thing has served me for a decade, and it'll easily serve me another two. You'll not find a more loyal friend than that.
Colton Sullivan
That's comedy gold, coming from someone that uses a stick without hat switch.
>You'll not find a more loyal friend than that. MS Sidewinder, Cougar.
Justin Lewis
M8 don't call a plane shit because you can't sort out a workable control bind for trim or can't be arsed getting a better stick setup

You fucking dumbass. You've got 4 buttons on top in all four cardinal directions same as you'd find on a 4 way hat. You've got 4 buttons on the base that are reachable by your left hand. DCS allows up to two modifiers per function meaning you have 10 shift states and an unshifted state, meaning you have 11 potential "hats" or 44 potential buttons. Include the remaining two base buttons (although I'd just map them as centre track IR and landing gear without modifiers) and you have 66 potential buttons; include the trigger and you've got 77 potential functions you can map to your stick.
Get your shit together!
Adrian Gonzalez

Shit, I never realised that you could create your own modifiers.
Cooper Hall
How were you playing without modifiers? What planes were you flying where you only needed to control ~8 things?
Ayden Wilson
F-15c :^)
Levi Young
To be honest doing EVERYTHING via modifiers and hat switches sounds really uncomfortable.
Lincoln King
I was using the default keyboard ones, which are pretty pointless with the joystick, as you have to reach over anyway.
William Gomez
Even if the game doesnt allow you, you can just make a fucking macro. How dumb are you
Thomas Ward
I can't be arsed, now can I?
Kayden Baker
>10 >ded
Jack Anderson
No one happens to want to fly the shit Gazelle on $60 sand do they? There is a surprisingly fun server on there for it.
Nicholas Ward
It should retain its incredible climb rate, but should also become much more agile in the turn without losing all of your energy instantly.
It also should be easier to trim. The Su-27 is as unstable as aircraft come. The Fulcrum won't have that problem. Its trim will be easier because the current trim is way to sensitive.
It also won't snap or explode when turning. I don't think the MiG29 has a g limiter, but the famous quote is that "The pilot will break first"
Owen Wilson
You've still got shift, ctrl and alt, giving you 6 shift states (plus one unshifted) meaning 7 potential "hats" or 28 buttons on top. Include all the other buttons and trigger and you have 77 mappable functions.
Jaxson Bailey
Yes, but the potential is there; there are no excuses for not being able to map a few hats.
William Hughes
Spec Ops in this game when?
Nolan Cook
you have 105 functions on the keyboard, but how easy to remember is it? mnemonics matter a fuckton in complex control schemes
Xavier Scott
What's that shit?
Lincoln Butler
You can't remember 6 different combos with 3 buttons on the keyboard? If you include the slew hat, the warthog has 7 hats, you can safely ignore the mic hat (just use the keyboard) leaving you with 6 hats. You map the 4 buttons on the top to the DMS, TMS and CMS using one button shift states, you map the coolie hat, slew hat and trim hat to the two button shift states, the unshifted buttons you map to master mode, pickle, jammer and pinkie, you map the base buttons to airbrake, boat switch and china hat. You use the keyboard for the autopilot button (or shift trigger).
