Actually, she was deployed a few times before, relatively early in the war.
But indeed, she was always commanded by incompetent captains.

Deployed but never saw any action. Basically a giant, scary looking paperweight.
She did saw action. But her commanders always fired a few shots, got scared and ran away. Despite, in hindsight, having the upper hand in all the encounters.

So why are there so few Destroyers in my tier V and above game?
I got the Jap one to level IV and am having a blast. Abusing that detection range and torpedoes means at the very least 2 kills per match and you get a shitload of exp for capping and such.
Because everyone else already got a Shima, and they're busy ruining T10 games.
So any tips as I ascend the JP DD line?
Is it better to target the front line and choke the area with torps or slip around the side and fish for a lone battleship?

you find enemy DDs at the start and drown them in torps as you spot them. your spotting range is the best so you'll always spot them first. then hope your team deals with them because you dont want some russian or USN gunboat pummeling you with HE all match

Also what is the strengths of the Russian DD's? Americans had strong guns, Japs are fast and torps are long range. What does dancing bears do?
