first for viper king is a worst

AYY

>being this wrong
>getting this mad about being btfo
0/10 bait harder

is it just me or do mutons not feel as threatening anymore?

Pistols are Useful.

I mean pic related kicked my ass because there was three pods of them so I dont know

It's not you, they even mention it in game
They've been mixed with human DNA, so they're smaller but agiler
Also, they hardly ever use nades and instead just to miss.
Only threatening thing is the bayonet that you quickly learn to avoid.
Not hard being unthreatening when the only other ayys weaker than it are ADVENT Troopers and Vipers
Officers will fuck your shit up by ratting out your location, Lancers are already understood, Archons are assholes, Codices meme everywhere and dodge, Avatars can wreck you, Gatekeepers can be a pain until you get impervious Psi troops (though they break the game anyway), Andromedons are annoying shits at times, Sectopods are occasionally difficult when you end up having to deal with multiple pod activations, and MECs are REEEEEEEEEEEEE STOP THROWING GRENADES EVERYWHERE

xth for another shit DLC
Is the art team made up of tweens ?

Sectopods you say?

I still have more hope for Shen's Last MEC

All they need now is a cow sound effect and you'll have your very own Gecko horde!

>EVA
Nah, its going to be D.Va

D.Va is worst girl though

But it rolls with the Anarchy's Children theme

Im surprised there hast been a sound mod for that

What the fuck man these fuckign alien kings get actions on your turn what the hell man jesus chirst how horrifying

>4 out of 5 overwatch shots hit
>MEC lives with 1 HP
>crouches

something i hate about AI in turn based games is when they don't care about surviving and their only directive is to try and kill you at any cost. The first time i saw an officer run away i thought this had finally happened but MECs and Archons just suicide into you constantly

>Operation Patient Cobra
Snek king interrupts a VIP extraction, kills the VIP, and wipes out half my squad before escaping.
>Operation Righteous King
Snek king shows up at the end of a terror mission and dies like a bitch after foolishly trying to grab my bladestorm ranger.

When did these random mission names start making sense?

So, i am playing long war, can i take a all SHIV party?

I think that they are pretty good aginst chrisalids because no panic.

I am going to my first terror mission.

you take that fucking back!

>moving up on a VIP extraction mission
>couple of missions ago snake king showed up and got taken down to about half health before he got the fuck out
>everyone is in over watch but one ranger
>send ranger forward
>SNAKE KING!
>proceeds to be utterly fucking perforated by stacked overwatch

I had no clue he was even there that mission, felt great.

Hola.

Did they made a long war for xcom 2?

Sup guys.

I have a request, a friend of mine wants to see the picture where all the long war texts have been changed to memes. I don't have it, can someone help?

No, but I can let you know that your ironic sucking of dicks isn't gay

Im really fucking liking the ODST and other Halo mods.

So you mean the vanilla game then?
BBATCTF

>its 2am, iv got work at 7am
>im still playing Xcom

Feels good man.

I haven't been here in months, context?

Probably tripfag bashing, newfags like usual.

BBATCTF

What?

It doesn't matter who you are, what matters is your content
No one cares about your trip until your identity relevant to the conversation

big

BIG BLOCKY ARMOR THAT COVERS THE FACE

Better later then never right?

come on user, why would you settle for anything but perfection?

BOOTYLANCER'S BANEPOSTING ARGON TITTIES CRUSHING TYGAN'S FOOT

Oh, yeah ok then. Yes I like that. Not wearing helmets in combat is terrible and it looks stupid to me.

Everyone gets a helmet in my games.

Are there any mods that make sectopods scary like they used to be?

yeah, its called playing UFO Defense

What's your opinion on the new DLC?

Worth or unworth?

>implying sectopods are scary in ufo defense
Please, things went down to laser fire and could be mind-controlled

Discs were worse because they could show up early.

XCOM definitely has the scariest sectopods.

Sorry I'm late to the party but I just read the patch notes
>grenade damage adjusted down
Lmao fucking what? I had a hard time justifying grenade spec grenadiers anyways on Legend, now they're even less useful. Gunner is objectively superior and now Ranger is literally the best normal class.

But I guess since they were strong on Commander they decided to nerf them. Kek

I was actually thinking about how to make them like the EW rape machines

So far I was thinking
>harder to hack, and take a free reaction shot at the attacker of a failed hack
>upping the armor to something in line with EW's halved damage
>comes with some form of self repair to compensate for lack of drones
>reimplement the free overwatch and 2 shots per turn

Not really sure if that's enough or not, seems like Specialists would still destroy it

I have literally never bothered to hack them anyways so the first point would hardly do anything.

Other things look good though

Yeah their armor is pathetic in X2, and they don't have any inbuilt defense, so hitting them is a sinch. I don't like the inbuilt defense part, that's just annoying, but I love the concept of something that literally needs focused fire and armor shred to take down. An actual tank, not a glorified two story glass cannon.

Give Sectopods the ability to mind control, as a call back to old Sectopods, its literally a Etheral with a joystick, plus they can use some of the etherals PSI moves, and are immune to some of them, like all machines.

Either that, or some sort of regenerating shield akin to mind meld, or some sort defence turret that shot down your grenades and rockets.

>take a break from xcom2
>steam "sup bro your DLC arrived"
>tfw bradford is now playable

awww yeah baby time to do it up.

Bradford has always been playable, albeit without his voice.

COMMANDER, I'M TAKING FIRE OVER HERE, YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO SHOOT THE ALIENS IF YOU WANT TO PUT A STOP TO THIS
COMMANDER, THE ALIENS CONTINUE TO MAKE SHOTS AT ME, WE NEED TO ACT FAST IF WE WANT TO END THIS
MENACE 1-5, WE NEED EVAC NOW, DAMMIT

Can bradford be the volunteer?

No, he's not Psy

But can he be a mech tho?

Can you take a full SHIV team on long war? I wanted to take on terrot missions.

>Terrot missions

Operation Stardust Crusaders

Completely unrelated to any patches or dlc, but i started a new campaign last night and the only class avaliable is grenadier...

The only thing i could think of is the "disable all vanilla classes" mod that i used last playthrough could be fucking up, but i made sure it was disabled before starting over again. Any ideas?

> the only class avaliable is grenadier...

congratulations on your campaign win

>Operation Stardust Crusaders

>Joseph Joestar is critically wounded. Use a medkit to stablise.

Thank god Jotaro was able to finish the fight in time, or else he would bleed out like Kakyoin.

hows the dlc guys?
i bought the dlc pack so i just need to dl it, have a campaign at late game, restart or its not that great?

If alien hunters is teaching me anything, the best way to make something scary is to give it an unfair amount of extra actions. Bring back the extra actions would be the best imo.

While that sounds like a good choice, i think that the unfair bonuses is a better choice.

Extra actions mean they can shoot again, and thats kinda a bit too much, not that i am aginst it,some people may find it excessive.

>Timed VIP assassination mission.
>Going pretty good, but clock is starting to run down.
>Better finish this quickly.
>Suddenly muton queen.
>Kills two guys, knocks out two more.
>Warps out with two turns left on the clock.
>only one squaddie makes it to the evac point.

Half my Grenadiers MIA, along with two rare grenades. Not sure if I should have brought the special gear or if I would have just lost that too.

It seems nades are the best bet against leaders. Esp if they can put a damage over time status on them, the damage will be applied every time they take an action, so in other words every time YOU take an action.

Unfortunately this also means timed debufs wear off faster too.

So for those who missed it Stellaris has an X-COM event that triggers when you fuck with a pre-space population too much.

I don't even know what Stellaris is user.

Those axes look fucking retarded, Jesus Christ Jake, fix your brain.

That's weird coming from a player of XCOM, usually the Turn Based Tactics and 4X communities overlap quite a bit.

Paradox space RT 4x

I see, grand strategy paradox games are too complicated and tedious for my diminutive casual monkey brain, games like total war and sins of empire are the closest i get to that genre.

Stellaris, at least as it stands, is probably their least complex grand strategy game.

So is anyone out there working on a total conversion mod yet? Say for a Death Watch game or some such?

For me they're way more dangerous than the ones in Xcom EU, they were basically better sectoids. First time i encountered a muton in my legend campaign it fucked my shit up since it had a shitton of defense, hit every shot and also had HP and armor, this was before i could have a billion dillion trillion grenades and other stuff

space empires

you can discover primitive civilizations - including earth, and infiltrate them in order to take over their planet.

sometimes the infiltration doesn't work out perfectly and stuff like that pic happens.

Typically, even if your infiltration isn't successful, an actual invasion is piss easy because they're primitives.

Anyone have that image of the text files in EU/EW being changed to things like muffled ayy lmao in the distance when alien activity starts?

It's not that, it's because of the Rulers. Grenade damage was too high against most common things you would be fighting. One Incendiary Grenade would kill Sectoids or most Advent, even if they didn't, the burn damage would finish them off.

Basically, Rulers by themselves CAN be devastating, but you are going to have a much more difficult time if you have to think about the normal enemies too.

I continued my campaign after the DLC had released, and Bradford mentioned Vahlen when i met the viper king. Did i miss a mission or something that was supposed to introduce me to these?

Vahlen has a snek fetish.

You only see the new story stuff if you start a new game, they tell you this when they ask if you want to activate the DLC stuff for your in progress campaign.

They are only hard to start playing, they're fairly easy to play once you understand them.

Stellaris is really approachable, it's no more complex than Sins at the start.

Stellaris is fun but my system got curb stomped until the guys attacking me had an ai uprising and died so I guess it aint all bad

Just started 2

>first mission
>need to kill the mindcontrolling guy
>go directly behind him, also close range, nothing is between us
>just 84% chance to hit for some reason
>miss

>get another guy in a similar spot
>84%
>miss

So, in what way should have I been more skilled in this scenario? I'm really curious as you evidently cannot reach 100% hit right now.
Where did I fail, other than playing this piece of shit?

>Vahlen didn't die
Will we see a conclusion to it in Shen's gift?

84% is not 100%
If you're not prepared to miss, dont take the shot

For real though, someone send help

Gunslinger is my favorite class

ideally, your guys would be in high cover and unflankable, because a sectoid with his psi powers on cooldown is going to take a shot instead of mindfuck someone

How to install halo armors correctly? Mine are missing textures in some parts, or even whole legs.

thats xcom baby

point blank rifle shots have a notoriously high miss rate, regardless of hit chance

mission 1 is the hardest in the game. Xcom has a notorious inverse difficulty curve. If over half your squad survived gatecrasher you did okay.
Though obviously as you keep playing and get better you should eventually get better at doing gatecrasher.

>an actual invasion is piss easy because they're primitives.
thin men plz go

So I heard there were some changes not included in the patch notes, any notable ones?

>kill advent faggot attached to a pectoid
>Pectoid runs like a bitch with 1 health to just within my line of sight
>Follow him with ranger
>Ranger reveals a trooper and officer near where the pectoid was standing
>Pectoid gets to fucking move into high cover because the new pod was revealed
What BULLSHIT. Fucking cheating ayys.

Last time I played snipers were shit next to sharpshooter, ranger were stealth only, specialist full offense AOE and Psi simply broken

Did anything change balance wise ?

Not really.

Lets see:
Sharpshooters have always been shit and they still are
Rangers are shotgun only and they are the best class overall
Specialist is another shit class unless its a gorilla mission where you have to hack something
Psi is the most overpowered thing in the entire game
And additionally grenadiers got nerfed really hard so gunner spec is the only viable one.

>grenadiers got nerfed really hard
I haven't been paying attention since the last DLC came out, when did grenadiers get nerfed and how?

Just now. Grenade damages got nerfed all across the board by a significant margin and the Volatile Mix perk doesnt grant extra AoE to them anymore

Ah, started a new campaign and haven't gotten to any grenade upgrades yet. Regular frags seem the same unless I'm being retarded.

They are the same

>You'll never recruit Soldier: 76
>He and Bradford will never be grizzled war vets together
>"We're not young men anymore."

It's because of Anarchys Children. What you need to do is select the torso armor first "no Anarchys children torso armor" and then the arms and then then the legs.

My guys wear the advent chest piece, Anarchys children pants (the one with the metal boot/shin guards that don't look retarded" and the regular full Kevlar arms plus the ODST helm. The Spartan armor has a lot of issues with Anarchys children. The textures or there but they don't like interacting with that dlc.

Honesty Anarchys children was such a big disappointment. I was expecting some ISIS rebel type shit and instead I got meme options like top hats and fetish/bondage gear, all it really did was bloat and slow down my game when editing my soldiers.
