The blast doors you had to open served as loading screens during your first visit, to split the dungeon into several smaller parts to load.

However, after that, traveling to the Lair has to load the entire dungeon, which is a fuckhuge, dense and cluttered area. Pretty much similar to Downtown Boston in that regard, which also takes a comparatively long time to load zoning into.

Then I've got bad news. You can't level down. Not even via the console.

You technically could adjust your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats, HP and Endurance to fit those of a level 100 character, but that wouldn't fix the leveled enemy issue you're having.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple of mods that address leveled enemies, however that would most likely make you terribly OP.

If you're not playing on Survival yet, you might want to switch, as it pretty much fixes the damage-sponge-issue, as you and most enemies become glass-cannons compared to the other difficulties which simply increase enemy HP and lower your damage.

I've tried survival and it just became a nuisance in other ways. Not difficult, mind you. Not combat wise. Just the lack of fast travel I'm afraid causes problems when you're in the middle of mt desert island and the slog is under attack. That was annoying. Or having to sleep, eat and drink constantly. I even have the lead belly and aquaboy perks which made tending to most of those easy enough. But they become a bit of a nuisance. I also have the lone survivor perk and I never use companions

I dunno man. I love the damage modification it does. But I'm a hoarder and I carry a lot of crap. and ammo. and shit like that. Maybe I SHOULD switch it back on though and turn the level cap on. I'm just annoyed with the lack of saving when a quest glitches (and it did during my playthrough of far harbor) or the game glitches or crashes.

Bethesda feels really really confident their game is glitch and crash proof. I'm not. So saving often is required because of that.

Fixed by mods. Though the game definitely improves by actually having to walk, as you constantly stumble across stuff you'd otherwise have missed. Also, Vertibird Signal Grenades become really useful.

It is not FO:NV's Survival. You only have to eat/drink every real-world-hour or so, as the first stages of malnutrition/dehydration aren't really a huge deal.

Just get rid of the weapons you rarely use and only stick to 2-3. Combined with Deep Pocketed/Ultra Light modifications on your armor, carry weight shouldn't be much of an issue. Get used to only picking up valuable loot and the ammo/materials you need.

Only CTD'd once in roughly 200 hours. FO4's version of the Creation Engine definitely improved a lot as far as stability goes.
