/btbg/ Battleborn General

Euphoric Edition

>What is this?
Battleborn is a new MOBA-FPS by Gearbox Software (developers of Borderlands).

>Should I buy it?
Don't let the artstyle put you off. It's a bit slow to start, but lots of fun once you get into it. Objective oriented, solid combat, good map design.

You can buy it for $30 on keysites if you don't want to pay full price.

Dead general for dead game.

wow is that what the taunt is from? that's pretty funny actually. great show.

all his dance taunts are from there youtube.com/watch?v=APWXorE6h8U

I'm eating tacos

I have a picture of a successful solo on advanced Heliophage with Rath. You can solo it with anyone(except maybe miko?) if you know what you're doing.

Admittedly it took me 78 minutes, but that's not my point. You can solo anything on advanced with 99% of the cast. For real.

Cry more.

There needs to be a rank mode.

I'm getting tired of being grouped up with casuals

I did it with Thorn, it was pretty easy.

this only proves that they shitpost us but we don't shitpost them, so we're better

were the underdogs fampai, of course we talk about the competition. since blizzard will have the whole internet jump an their dick whenever they put out a new game, bb is having a slow start since ow has had so much more buzz.

Can you lads recommend a good starter?

Game installed in three minutes!

Oscar Mike.

Impossible to shitpost at overwatch.
It would require the game to have content

I just realized that "El Dragón" is Spanish for "The Dragon"

What stats work well with shayne n aurox? Been running attack speed so i can spam boomerangs faster than you can say RAGE

Somebody on a different website said they did it with Miko.
I almost did it with Boldur, but I lost connection to the internet for literally less than a second but it was apparently enough to kick me out of the match. Was literally landing the final blow on the last of the second set of mini-bosses. It got hairy a few times, and I barely managed to beat the first section with enough time, but once you level him up enough Boldur is borderline unkillable.
Pretty impressed you managed it with a squishy bastard like Rath, good job dude.

Thank you. I did it to finish his lore challenge so I could get Master of Rath. If I want to solo Heliophage on Advanced, my current choice is Whiskey Foxtrot. His sustain with the "Killer Regen" mutation and his DPS are excellent.

Depends on how much of a fucking 'tard you are. OM is pretty 'tard proof with his great run away like a pussy faggot bitch and deny me my kills, mother fucker I still need 22 of these stop running away skill.
If you're a huge gigantic piece of shit who gains sexual pleasure from feeding the enemy team, chose Rath. If you also like killing minions while feeding the enemy team, chose Orendi.
Montana is pretty good but needs team support to really shine.
And if you pick Miko, please, please, PLEASE pay attention to your teammates health and heal them instead of flicking your piece of shit kunais 24/7. Miko's who don't heal are worse than Hitler.

I can imagine, if you take the MIRV and incendiary helixes you can do a shit ton of damage in PVE since most enemy hitboxes are much bigger than players.

Other folks have covered this pretty well, I'd just like to add some info that usually gets overlooked for a good dozen matches or so as someone learns the game for the first time:

One of the biggest elements of PvP is managing how quickly you and the rest of your team are leveling up. Ideally you want to be 1-2 levels ahead of the enemy team, and it peaks around level 6-7 before you stop focusing on leveling and more on pushing the offensive.

And the best way to level up isn't killing enemy players, and even wiping minion waves isn't that great (but still useful), no the best way to level up is constructing buildings around the map and destroying the other team's buildings. A team that knows to control the building points and deny the opponent theirs has an immense advantage. The initial experience from destroying/building is good, but to top it off, any building you have built is considered an extension of you for any experience you would get from: killing minions, killing other players, assisting in killing other players.

So if that stinger turret you built pings an enemy for 100 damage before one of your teammates killed them, you get exp for an assist just as if you had been there attacking yourself. If a minion wave gets wiped by that thumper turret you built behind the second sentry, you get the exp for it.

So you are earning exp from your buildables while you are doing other things that are also probably earning you exp.

I don't do the mirv, I do the one that fires 3 different stickies. It lets me spread the fire where I want. You're right about the incendiary evolution, though. Wait, evolution? I modify my DNA to ...change my grenades into fire grenades? What the fuck?

>modify my DNA to
Most of the characters aren't actually touching their DNA.
If you look on any character's page, the last blurb in the info section is usually about what is actually getting modified. Whiskey's says 'his old, battered UPR armor.'

Whiskey has a fire allergy.

I was mentioning the MIRV because as I recall the damage reduction isn't as bad as the triple fire, and on bigger targets you can actually stick all three on them at once.

Also nice for wave clear since you just lay down a line on top of them at once instead of having to manually place them for the best coverage.

Best girl coming through
Every day until you like it

She's pretty cool.

Does this game have a map editor?

Holy shit, Toby's fun as fuck. Tabbed out of matchmaking and didn't realize I was in a match till the game threw me in as him so I winged it and ended going 5/0. We lost sadly since we had no real pushers on our team.

I'm terrible as him, which fucking sucks huge donkey dicks because I want to get all the achievements and doing so involves getting a double kill using his ultimate. This is apparently pretty damn hard considering people I've talked to who have him at level 15 only have 2-3 of the ten done.

I've literally been winning every game.....

I'm down with sexing a four arm magik laser

Ambra is slowly becoming waifu of the month.

Also feel free to add me. None of my friends bought this shitty game that I love.

Going back to Orendi, or hell, any of the characters I play.
What gear should I usually bring in?
I play Miko, Phoebe, and Orendi

Suck it scrubs

Just hit rank 15 after a few days, should I be buying any of the faction packs? Still not sure how getting good gear in this game works.

nice i guess lol

i'd say only buy the faction packs if theres a emote or skin you want for a character you like in them

Nice loss faggot, git fucking gud.

Post your game history.

>get a lucky kill from bouncing boomerang
>get a triple from ult while aurox poses like hes in gladiator

Wait for them to release tier 2 skins before buying anything.
Also I bought ten packs and didn't get a single taunt or skin, RNG is a bitch.

>playing with premades and not randoms
Shitter.

Who's dick do I have to suck for some Battleporn for Alani, Phoebe, and maybe even Shayne?

whatever u gotta tell urself noob lolzer

>mfw playing kelvin
>Spawning an icewall behind 3 enemies at a chokepoint with my team behind me.

They never stood a chance

tumblr and da theres some for phoebe, orendi and benedict.

>Benedict

Of course there is.

And these are randoms.

I've never played premades since I have no friends.

>Rath player who has a ton of kills, on a 4 man pre-made,
>I'm the only person on my team who manages to kill him, do so several times
>he gets his buddies to stun/bodyblock/icewall me in one place for him to unload all of his skills and rip through me with his ultimate
>taunts afterwards
>kill him again almost immediately after I respawn, taunt him back
>him and his friends go from winning the match to losing it because they spend the rest of the game chasing after me
>messages me afterwards calling me a faggot

What the actual fuck.

So we've got this, Overwatch, Paragon and LawBreakers. What the fuck do I even play.

>play story mode all the time
>end up having a huge amount of deaths compared to player kills

Feels bad, I usually get around 1:1 k/d in PVP, sometimes better.

You better play whatever you want
I'd like you to play this game, it needs players, but don't force yourself

So I previously made a covenant that I'd sooner beat Randy's brains in with an iron rod than buy another Gearbox game. Convince me to play this. Optionally, convince me to play this and not kill Pitchford.

>I'd sooner beat Randy's brains in with an iron rod than buy another Gearbox game
If that's your attitude then it'd be very smart to just stay away. The writing is very "Gearbox" and while I do have fun with the MOBA gameplay in multiplayer and the story mode doesn't bother me too much, it is a slower shooter that focuses on creep killing and I do agree with many of the complaints about the UI.
I'm tellin ya this because Gearbox certainly didn't do a good job explaining it's own game

Meh don't think many people worry about that I sure dont.

I just worry about wins and loses.
If I die a bunch of times and we still win I'm happy about that, worrying about deaths is what makes people scared of pushing and making the team lose.

tfw toby last hit me and taunted
tfw spent rest of the game focusing him and taunting after every kill
tfw was playing kelvin and wound taunt whenever i saw him because of how unkillable and tanky kelvin is

i couldn't help myself

My win lost ratio is also bad, I don't try and claim to be anything other than average, but so many matches I've been in have been against a team of higher levels, or my team just straight up sucks.

Post Teams

It's very much a team oriented game, chances are it's just your team pushing you down.

This is why I play support, it's easier to carry a shitty team if you're in the back healing their shitty asses.

Do I use the camera stick to control Benedict's Boomsday missile? I tried using the left stick but it kept going straight.

I assume so, since it's mouse controlled for PC

>tfw love Toby and his constant spaghetti spilling

However, I feel like I'm just barely above dead weight when I play him. I usually do alright with kills, clear minions well, and avoid dying too much, but I'm not sure of how I play his role, is he more for lane denial with shield sniping, or a mix of that and bruising with the mine and quick shots? I rarely do anything with his ult either. For it's crazy wind up time, it's damage output is pathetic.

How long before Gearbox throws Battleborn under the bus to make Borderlands 3?

Right stick then, just like aiming

ALWAYS get railgun damage through shield. Honestly if you don't have a shield up, good luck with your slow ass energy balls.

Never be afraid to partially fire your railgun because through the shield, it still does a good amount of damage.

Aways get stun mines. Always.

Melee combat is not recommended. If there is a Rath, clench your butthole till you get stun mines. Damage reduction when out of boost is recommended over 4 charges. Vertical boost is highly situational.

Set up in areas that keep you out of full marquis view, unless you intend on countersniping him, which is very easy to do with the shield. Toby is very underestimated by Miko and other slightly squishy people, and an odd placement of shield can help you whittle people down before they really know where you are, and let your assassins go in.

Toby is not really a kill getter. More of the artillery that shakes them up enough to be killed.

Remember that the projectiles are damn near hitscan through the shield, and shield is usually up when your first one dies.

Basically, be an off sniper, with the added utility of being able to soak up some damage. Pick targets carefully, and HOPEfully let your team finish what you start, and move in to clean up afterwards.

Totally placement based, and the weirder the better.

Holy wall of text..

Theyve already got a different part of gearbox working ofn it, they dont need to.

How do I get Attikus going? need general advice for playing him.
Also does Dragon's real name been revealed ingame yet? because its clear his "latin wrestler" persona is fake by the accent drops on death/fighting Varelsi

Bump of saved

Thanks, that's pretty close to how I've been playing him actually, I just need to git gud with picking the right targets and leading without the shield. My biggest gripe is how many mine stuns I've missed due to the mines getting stopped by fucking everything, friendly minions, allies, invisible level geometry, and I swear some projectiles as well. Some seem to stop midair far before they hit max range.

>Toby
>Maximum damage, railgun charges at the speed of fuck you
>damage montana faster than the miko can heal him
>chase him into a corner and whittle those last pieces of hp as he looks at you with a sad, helpless expression

Get all his life steal shit, the health regen based on how many charges he has and whatever general helix you want. Gear wise at least for me I roll with Attack speed, Critical Damage, and either skill/attack damage. Also always aim for head punching, your crits are insane and it's really easy to punch most heads. Your pounce can help set that up with stuns from the knockback of the pounce if they hit an object. Always have Hedronic Arc up before you engage in a fight.

Does attack speed gear boost his RG's charge speed?

Is there a goood character to solo the saboteur on advanced with? I just can't seem to do it. The last core you have to protect just dies so easily.

This or paragon

I think the last hotfix was supposed to increase the health of stationary defense objectives, but I still haven't managed to five-man it on normal.

Yup.

Yeah I read about that but it didn't feel like that at all.

They call him Benadict because there's nothing he loves more than bending over for the dick

Wow, meltdown is total shit.

Fuck that shit show

Shit it gramps ur too old to be playing

>Their team

Paragon is fucking terrible. It's so god damn slow and no one feels like they can actually kill anyone else unless you have numbers.

>opinions

I like the speed of paragon. Positioning is important.
I don't have trouble getting kills and I normally play decker

Some of their characters are 10/10, I fucking love Iggy and Scorch and GRIM.exe, but so much of it is just boring generic looking garbage.
Also I heard matchmaking is really, really bad.

I hate the state casters are in that game. They are just so weak. I could use gadgets full kit and it will still not do more damage than to basic attacks from an ADC.

Ambra still fucking retardedly op and gay

Kill the sunspots, not that hard

[praising intensifies]

Git gud

Someone make a Pic of this

Is that really all their is to it.

Yes.
The sunspots is what lets her and allies heal, kill it as soon as possible.
Get out of the radius of the easy to see ult and youre fine.

Can anyone recall how long it took for borderlands to drop in price?

Still on the fence about this and am wondering if it would be worth my money to get in while the community is still fairly populated. I just hope waiting for a dip in the price only to see it ended up dead like evolve or something.

So what is the game mode that everyone plays?

Get it at a key site if you play PC. 35 bucks
