generally she's played as support. so between wards and support stuff the money left is spent towards dragon lance, force and aghs. if you really want the mana, get the int staff. but even without that, with wand you have mana pool to heal, slow and around 10 impetus, that's enough for most early fights. later she has force and aghs and what not.

You can play him alot of different ways. Something you nearly always want to get(and pretty early) is blink. Blink is just generally great on abaddon because he has 4-6 seconds of damage invulnerability so he is generally guaranteed to have blink up when caught out.
