with bora you have to choose between active, crit, or attack/reflex
for pure damage you'd go attack/active but then you miss out on potential counterattacks for repeated shots, and the small chance of a counterattack when they try to break out
and then there's the question of why even run bora if you only go full damage when you could just as easily run sharr
I'm not considering the steal ATB/spirit skill because that should be maxed regardless

-maxed teranox + substat + other substats and stones 53%
then from the example in -an active pass from nari 40%
-renee totem 20%

and with all that, I didn't crit against a BT, though she was over 50% hp and had active on
so, assuming that in the higher ranks 90% of backlines will have a significant amount of crit resistance stacked, bora's only likely to crit on an active, and even then only if it's with a nari active pass

the other thing is my bora isn't specced for crit, the obvious focus for mine is raw damage.
I've got some crit/critdamage, but I figured it would be more useful to do more damage on a non-crit than hope for a crit every time
