can we share guildcards? I'm lonely.

We could use more EO5 information in the OP for the next thread.

i bought a 3ds this week and I have never played an EO game before. Where should i start? The millenium girl?

Yes.

EO1 or EO2. The remakes are not good.

Sure, what are you hoping to get out of a guild card, cause I can do just about anything.

Someone that has all the famitsu scans should make an album to put in the OP

EO4 is a fine starting point, any of them are really, but if you play the most recent ones (the untolds) you might miss features on the previous games.

The EOIV demo.

Really tempted to make an entire guild out of generics now.

Make your gathering party all generics.

Good, leaves room for my main party to be all armpits.

Hard mode: make a female party with NO armpits.

There aren't enough portraits for that.

Either Dragoon
Either Herbalist
Granny Hound
Braids Shaman

You'd have to duplicate classes or use the generics for the 5th member.

Cestus fan art when?

...

Which one? Basquash or BIGMCLARGEHEUG?

...

There's criticisms against every entry in the series. As far as games on the 3DS go, EO4 works pretty well, since it unlocks character customization options over time instead of overwhelming you with the whole range of possibilities.
EO2U Story Mode also works well, if you don't mind a less traditional experience, as it provides you with a functioning team right out of the gate.

the fuck did you do to that chest

Now all I see is a cute little boy.

Just because her chest is small doesn't mean she's a boy.

>vampire bats
>that shitty pseudo-teleport gimmick from misty ravine
>that shortcut design
Forgotten Capital is fucking garbage holy shit

Are there any other games with interesting party customization in the vein of EO and 7th Dragon?
Conception 2 seemed interesting in theory, but in practice, none of the options seemed to make any difference. Piss-poor port, story and dungeons aside.

Big McLargeHuge

>interesting party customization in the vein of EO and 7th Dragon?
Do you mean parties with a lot of synergy between classes, or the pick and name your own units thing?

What is the point of Buccaneer Chase skills? They're awful.

Stranger of sword city or maybe dungeon travelers 2

No, not really.

>little brother
>big sister
Too cute.

Improve it

The most homosexual thing I've ever seen in these threads.

The synergy between clearly defined classes.

On the Vita, go figure...
I do have a PSTV, but reasonably priced memory cards and physical games are equally impossible to find.

You could always just rent
Also stranger of sword city is coming to pc with the custom portrait feature

You don't look at your own posts?

Digital Devil Saga has a cool skill tree.

lol

genius of sappheiros

Somebody pay attention to my grievances

The real reason it's shit is it's only one floor long.

Rent? Where?

No. I have it, I played it, it refused to click with me.
Not to mention that Mantras in DDS are a very different beast from the customization in EO.

Can I enjoy this even if I neither know nor care about Touhou?

>Rent? Where?
Gamefly, it's worth it if you can finish more than one game a month
>Can I enjoy this even if I neither know nor care about Touhou?
Yes, but I strongly advise that you should dupe items and materials if you don't want to spend way too much time grinding drops for basic equipment upgrades

I don't have a Smart TV.

>Smart TV
What?
Gamefly rents out physical vita games

The only GameFly I can find is a game streaming service.
And even if there was some shop like that, I'm pretty sure it does not exist in Germany.

Yep, I hope to see more art of the big Cestus.

>Germany
Oh
Nevermind then

Man I'd love to get my hands on a demo for EOV. I'm dying to fuck around with the color customization.

Hopefully they do another one of the "your save data transfers to the full game" demos so that we can actually have decided on a team by the time it comes out.

>People excited for heterochomia

I've killed this red dragon four times, and he still wont give me the second regular drop.

Try to stop me faggot

I don't care if you wanna be cancer user

I'll just have to spend the next year or so fiddling around in Photoshop.

Just got to Etreant in Untold Story Mode. Jesus, I hope this scene is better in Classic because they really bastardized Visil's character to make the game more "anime"

How do you make something anime more anime?
Actually, how do you make anything more anime? Something is either anime or not.

You aren't?

I imagine big eyes, school uniforms and desu. But that cannot be it.

That's just a genre shift.

>No Grimoires or subclassing
I would've liked quad-wielding gun bunnies.

>Not bows
Step up senpai

Because suddenly instead of being about the brutal realities of dungeon crawling economics Etrian Odyssey is about a guy possessed by a tree that wants to live forever

Who here's making an old granny bunny for their team? I know I am.

I don't see what that has to do with anime.

anime at this point just means "thing from japan that i don't like", like weeb

The sole reason for Visil to go against you in the originals was that?
So was he not even one of the creators of Yggdrasil in the original? Because that's a pretty big change.

Eventually I want to do a run with granny bunny, grandpa dragoon, and their kids and grandkids.

>haven't even started planning team out
>3 months left

Bad anime plotline aesthetic, just like "stinky loli from 1000 years ago falls into your lap and falls in love with you"

>tfw you will never take a bath with a stinky loli

So before he was a guy that sent people to the labyrinth but then didn't want then going down the labyrinth.

Visil is one of the original creators of the tree, which is a lot better than "I want to keep this tree alive and fucking everything up because money".

>Bad anime plotline aesthetic
That's a retarded way of describing anything.

>Visil is one of the original creators of the tree

That was the case in EO1 too.

Sentient trees, possession and the wish for immortality are all staples of western mythology.
Japan did not invent that.

Hey guys here's my waifu. What do you think? Also:
>not making your Monks Battle Medics

>being this intentionally obtuse

Nothing new under the sun etc etc.

I thought the other monk was cuter, but I couldn't not use Ranma.

already doing that, thanks to the bug

youtube.com/watch?v=XmUZ9kO-BBM

The battle theme from V is so good.

You seem a bit stung. Need some?

I just love monk girls in general. Spunky Tomboys that are stronger than most men and can kick ass with their bare hands are awesome. Also that red braided hair is really pretty.
Really wish that Fist Mastery was scaled better. At least Fists are one of the strongest weapons in the much later on in the game.

The game never implies she's in love with you, it's all up to the player to decide their relationship aside from being friends, like the whole party is.

>replying instead of ignoring and reporting

Yggdrasil didn't fuck anything up in EO

>replying to the replies instead of ignoring and reporting

Do people like the more sciency classes in Etrian games or do they find they break immersion?

I don't really think deeply about the magic or the science behind the characters. It doesn't seem like a line of thought that will end well.

I'm really glad I tried out an EO game. I'm in the middle of playing EO3 and I think it maybe be one of my favorite games ever. It's so good.

Is there more than one "sciency" class in EO?
Leaving aside bullshit and "it's not magic if I name it something else".

...

Maybe not strictly science, but I did feel a little weird initially when the gunners showed up in EO2.

Fortunately, after converting to Rickyism, I am now more accepting of them.

It really does. Also I absolutely love the sea quests, if solely because of this theme:

youtube.com/watch?v=UEsgRhIhHf8

These threads are moving way too fast lately.

Yeah gunners with their wooden guns and muskets sure feel out of place when next to alchemists with giant metallic gauntlets that cast "magic"

So, I keep hearing EO3 praised up and above the other games in the series.
How come?

Unique sprites and classes. Some really beautiful strata. Best music.

Of course, it has people who hate the everloving shit out of it too.

>tfw IGN gave EO3 a 6/10
I mean at least it isn't as bad as the God Hand review, but Christ man.

>IGN
Why would anyone care about their opinion in the first place
