They are quest rewards only.

When I said "manageable" I meant the rotation. Some dps simulations assume you're using a bunch of addons or micromanaging stuff on some kind of professional level.
Feral isn't brain-dead easy, but the rotation is rewarding to learn and easy to master if you pay at least a little attention. You'll have fun with the spec. Balance, on the other hand, isn't fun to play.

Balance relies on a gimmick that as time goes, it alternates between a moon and sun phase, and within those phases you kind of just cast one or two spells under that set. It's like arcane mage, but you swap between two different mages on an arbitrary timer.
And you probably would need two sets of gear to make the most out of both specs, but I'm not sure there's a lot of point in it right now if you're starting out. Just pick one spec and try to master it, and as you get geared up you can begin collecting alt pieces if you start farming raids later.

During MoP, a handful of characters I had/knew had no reason to visit Pandaria and never went there. My Pandaren herself also had no reason to go back because she left in order to see the world in the first place.
